Hatari! [VHS] - Import Allemagne

Keep up the good standard. Excellent

I was born in 1957, and so l saw Hatari!, which was released in 1961, at the cinema when I was quite young. It has had a lasting impression on me all my life, and is still my most favourite movie of all time. I have watched it many, many times. I love all the actors and the characters they play, I love the dramatic and vivid actual animal capture scenes, where the actors, including John Wayne, can be seen to be close to the animals. And I love the humour and romance of the story. It has live action animal capture scenes, romance, humour, rockets, and baby elephants, what more could you want in a movie. I have even bought and read the book version of the screenplay by Leigh Bracket. I wanted to live in that movie, and I still do, even though it represents a lifestyle that no longer exists, even if it ever existed. Hatari! is157 minutes long. To me that's not long enough. John Wayne and Howard Hawks's best movie together. Get a barrel of popcorn, put on Hatari!, settle down and dig in.

we watch this dvd last night and it was great .

The storyline is good the characters are good and the storyline is - well, good. The actors are wooden at times almost missing cues and sometimes you feel they are reading off of a cue card but it is funny at times and really good entertainment. Not the usual format for John Wayne but he makes it work.

Absolutely brilliant film, good cast red Buttons very funny. Best John Wayne film.

Hatari! follows the adventures of Sean Mercer (John Wayne) and his international crew as they capture big game in the Tanzanian bush for zoos and circuses. The easy camaraderie of the group is jeopardised by the arrival of the beautiful photographer Dallas (Elsa Martinelli) and the persistent bad luck they encounter in trying to capture a rhino.There is much to love in Hatari!. The frenetic chase scenes (in which all of the actors supposedly participated) are breathtaking. Seeing wildebeest herds alongside speeding trucks gives a sense of scale and velocity that documentaries cannot match, if only because modern animal welfare concerns would never permit it to be filmed. With Hawks behind the lens, the action is not only exciting but masterfully shot and edited. The score by Mancini is also notable, with a few themes having gained wider public attention than the film itself.The script was apparently written to fit around the bush scenes that were filmed on location in advance. Even given these limitations, it's pretty poor. Not only is the dialogue hackneyed but the tone shifts dramatically between action/adventure, romance and (in two notable scenes, one being the denouement) screwball comedy. A fairly preposterous romance is constructed between Wayne (54) and Martinelli (26) amongst others that are not helped by stunted performances from some members of the cast who are acting in their second language. Wayne's natural charisma and Red Button's gurning help to hold the viewers interest but at over two-and-a-half-hours, the plot starts to drag.Hatari! is worth it to see Wayne in an unusual context and to see a top tier director capturing wildlife shots that are both exhilarating and unique. Africa delivers in spades but sadly the script does not.

Para quienes no hablan inglés, esta película no tiene doblaje ni subtítulos en español. Esta película cuenta la aventura de una veterinaria italiana al hacer su servicio social con un grupo de cazadores de distintas nacionalidades en África. Corren los años 60s y en ésta época no es común ver a una mujer veterinaria ni documentalista. Ella practica la fotografía y decide hacer un documental sobre los cazadores. La particularidad de este grupo de cazadores es que deben atrapar animales vivos para zoológicos, eventos, circos, etc. Sin causarles daño. Uno de éllos resulta ser un inventor y cuando prueba cada uno de sus inventos, los nativos gritan ¡Hatari! ¡Hatari! (¡Peligro! ¡Peligro!) debido al gran escándalo que producen sus inventos y a la apariencia peligrosa de los mismos, especialmente cuando al probar uno de éllos provoca un conato de incendio, dado que el inventor maneja mucho la pólvora. En cuanto a la veterinaria, una vez que élla se entera de que el jefe de todo el grupo de cazadores no tiene pareja trata de conquistarlo. En el tiempo que pasa viviendo con el grupo de cazadores élla aprende especialmente sobre las costumbres de los elefantes, especialmente su comportamiento con sus crías.

Magnifico film! Pur essendo ambientato in Tanzania, Africa, si vede che c’à la mano di uno dei vecchi artigiani di Hollywood, vale a dire Howard Hawks! Oserei dire un … “western africano”. Le scene per la cattura degli animali nella savana sono assolutamente da vedere, specie la cattura del rinoceronte. Film avventuroso ma anche un po’ commedia comica, con John Wayne (Sean Mercer) e Red Buttons (Pockets) che la fanno da padrone (quest’ultimo per la parte comica). Elsa Martinelli (Anna Maria D'Alessandro), che qui interpreta una fotografa italiana, è superba! Nonostante la “rudezza” di John Wayne nel “dichiarare il suo amore per lei” (un rocambolesco inseguimento, alla fine del film, per le vie della città), una volta, in un’intervista, la udii dire che John Wayne, nella “vita reale”, era un, sue testuali parole, “autentico gentiluomo”.

ホークス監督ジョンウェイン黄金コンビの傑作！　アクション恋、コメディをあまなす所出しています。ヘンリーマンシーニの音楽、リーブラケットの脚本　イーデスヘッドの衣装　全て良い　ウェインは珍しく現代劇でコメディもやってて、途中、羊のミルクが入ったバケツをひっくり返し、頭にかぶってしまうシーンは最高だった。もちろん車でサイたち動物を追いかけるシーンも迫力がありかっこ良い　とにかく観て欲しい！
