6 PACK: Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pens, Black Ink, Single Pen (90010)

I love these pens...first found them in a little pen store in a very small town. Every time we went back I made that a go to stop to pick up more. Once, I couldn't find them, of course Amazon carried them. They feel like a fountain pen and I love the way they write. I am a pen fanatic. I buy a large variety and try them.....a retired art teacher....can't get enough. When I use them, people will say, "oh let me see that pen" and like it once tried. I keep going back to one of my favorites. Worth a try if you like the feel of a fountain pen!

At first I really liked these fountain pens. I had one laying on the side table next to where I sit on the couch, for about four days. Luckily I hadn't decided to use it on the couch. Last night I picked it up and as I was walking across the family room I opened the cap, readying to use it when I got into the kitchen. When I did, Ink sprayed all over the floor and across my hand. Somehow, laying on its side on the end table, the cap had filled with ink. All I can surmise is that maybe a sunbeam had crossed the table a few times in the past few days and warmed up the pen such that it blew its ink-load into the cap - but I am only speculating.Luckily I was over a tile floor and I was fortunate enough not to get any on my clothes or on my favorite hoodie that was laying across the back of a chair, but it did take me a while to clean the floor. The grout in a few places is still stained a bit.Maybe this is just one of those things that you have to get used to with a fountain pen, but dang it sucked; though it could have sucked worse.

I love these pens and have purchased before but unfortunately this time they were mailed loose and one of the caps came off in shipping. When I opened package and pulled out pens my hand got covered in ink and that pen was dry and not useable. So I paid for six pens, only five useable and quite a mess. Disappointed. Gave four stars because I love the pens. But a one star shipping experience.

I bought these as my first fountain pen ever. I spent some time reading about various writing implements, and fountain pens caught my eye. However, they are stereotypially expensive. I then spent some time reading about budget options and stumbled upon these. They have been a delightful introduction to the world of fountain pens. I love that they are prefilled, so I don't have to worry about buying and trying different inks. I simply pick it up and it works. If you are looking for a gateway into fountain pens, I would recommend these in a heartbeat. My only slight complaint is that they arrived loose in a shipping envelope, but they were not damaged, so I do not care greatly. Just thought I would mention it in case someone is looking to gift them.

Being an environmentally-conscious individual, I generally avoid disposable items. I make an exception for these pens, as they are the best, smoothest, most reliable fountain pens I've ever used. I've purchased them in bulk for almost 20 years, written hundreds of thousands of words with them, and I won't go back.

Great pens for lefties. The nib does not have an angle as many do so I am able to use these without a problem. The ink is a wonderful shade of black and not too wet, it does dry quickly. You might have a problem if you are a lefty that curls your hand and drags the side of your hand across the page. It writes very easily and has not bled on any of the papers I have used it on.

I'll say this. I bought six pens, and I received six pens. I thought they might come in some form of packaging, maybe from Pilot in a six pack, or maybe six individually packaged pens. What I didn't expect was an envelope with 6 loose pens with barcode stickers on each cap. I got what I ordered, none of the pens were damaged, but the loose way they were tossed into a plastic bag glued shut with a packing label taped to it, well it was less than ideal. I should say though, the pens are amazing. Absolutely nothing compares to it as far as a fountain pen, the price, the convenience, I love it. I carry one with me everywhere. I definitely recommend the pen. But the shipping from this seller left something to be desired.

Writing with good fountain pens is a really fun and satisfying hobby that improves your handwriting ability. However, traditional fountain pens can be complicated and inconvenient; they require frequent refills, extensive research, special parts and can be messy to use. In addition, many of them are leaky and can't safely be stored in a pocket or bag.These pens are a hybrid; a compromise between the elegance of traditional pens and the convenience of modern pens. As far as fountain pens go, they really aren't anything fancy. They are $2 pens and they look like it - everything is plastic except the nib. However, the value of both the experience and the utility of these pens is unmatched by any gel/ballpoint pen. They write beautifully and smoothly and are equally reliable as any ballpoint. With these, I frequently find myself writing just for the sake of writing and practicing my handwriting!Overall, these pens are a simple and inexpensive way to get involved in the fountain pen hobby without having to do a lot of research on pens, nibs, ink, cartridge/converters, etc. With these, you can find out if writing with other more expensive fountain pens would be worth the time and expense. Even if you do upgrade, you will still find plenty of uses for these pens!
