So far, so good
I was disappointed when I first got this razor cover because it was too wide to fit my favorite razor. After fiddling around with it a bit, I found that the two yellow semi-rigid rods in the center could pop out. They were easy to trim down a bit and pop back into the grey silicon cover. Now, it fits snugly which is essential because my razor is stored standing up in the shower.I like that it is super easy to put on & take off but not so easy that it will fall off accidentally. This will be nice for traveling as well. Those cheap plastic razor covers always pop off in my bag while traveling.I hope that it really does make a difference with the rust too, it will save me lots of money if it does.

How it fits my razor and how I am currently using it…
I am not exactly sure what I think of this product. I ordered it more because I thought it would be useful as a travel cover for the blades of my razor, and less because of the claim of prolonging the blade life. This review is for the XL size, which actually seems to fit my men’s Schick Hydro five blade better than my wife’s razor, even though this is listed as being a better fit for a woman’s razor, but it still is more loose than I would like, and perhaps the smaller size would fit better. The listing says that the tubes are going to release a vapor of some sort, which will decrease the rusting, and I am not convinced that that is likely to work, though I also admit that I have not done a comparison of my blade with and without the use of this device. If it is releasing some chemical vapor that inhibits rust, then I would also be interested in what chemical is being released into the air that I am breathing, but it does not appear to specify what is being released. It turns out that this device does not fit my razor securely enough to act as a cover when traveling, and at home I do prefer to rest my razor on the stand which came with the razor. In trying to still use this device, I found that it can be attached to the razor stand, in such a way that the vapor bars are still quite close to the razor blades, so I am going to give that a try for now. I am attaching a video to show how this device attached to my Schick Hydro five razor, along with some photos to show how this attaches to the razor, as well as how I am attaching it to my razor stand. It is a bit difficult to decide what star rating to assign this product, as it is sturdy, it seems well constructed, and seems like it would attach well to a slightly larger razor than this one, and I have questions about its ability to function as specified, but I also cannot easily demonstrate that it is not helping the blades, and then there’s also that question as to what vapors are being released. I do hope that some of this information might be helpful for you.

Interesting concept but some of the claims may be a little far fetched
We learned many years ago from an article that we both read and then followed up to verify that the biggest enemy of your shaving razor blades is rust. Most often when the blade starts to dull, it's not actually dulling but the not visible to the naked eye rust spots that form wind up giving the same effect. For this reason we always make sure the blades are dry when we are done and have even gone as far as to try rubbing alcohol to dry them, canned air, mini air blowers, etc. This SteelBee XL anti-rust cover is supposed to further prevent rust from forming by releasing a gas called Zerust which tool owners and builders have used for years to keep their equipment from rusting. After ordering and receiving the item we wanted to make sure it was 100% safe. The company's US website doesn't allow you to see the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) unless you request them. Thankfully other countries are a little more open in allowing their residents to find out if something is harmful so we found the ones from outside the US which we assume is the same chemical as it's made and sold by the same company. If we are incorrect we will revise our review. The MSDS lists - Northern TechnologiesInternational Corporation4201 Woodland RoadCircle Pines, MN 55014and then states - In case of skin contact: Wash contaminated skin with warm soapy water. Seek medicalattention if irritation persists.as well asAdvices [sic] on safe handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contactThey mention that the plastic is embedded with the Zerust product.Nothing was included with the product that we saw which warned us to clean it off before using. Since logic would dictate that a razor touches the skin and they suggest people avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact, and you have to use your fingers to take it off, so how wouldn't that be a danger? The listing for the other size specifically states "The protected metal can be painted, treated and/or used straight out of the Zerust package without further cleaning"Because of such conflicting information between what the MSDS states vs. what the manufacturer is claiming, we are holding off on any further use of it until we can find more concrete information. For this reason we are currently giving it a 3-star review but will revisit this review in the near future once we are able to verify the claims.

Holds on razor easily
I can't be entirely sure the effect that this razor cover is having on the longevity of my razors, but honestly, I like it just for the protection it can afford to the razor and the longevity is a bonus. It fits over the head of a standard razor easily, and doesn't require anything besides proximity to the blade.

Safer razor cover for my low vision.
I wasn’t 100% sure what this product was but once I saw it, I got it. It is a cover for your razor to allow air flow. It also makes it far safer to handle for people like me who have low vision in the shower. I sliced my hand up last week fiddling with a clear plastic razor cover. With this it is far easier for me to take out and replace my razor. This XL size fits my larger size razors. Clever and safe.
