Brilliant Grill Pan
Do not wash this as normal Pan. Keep Cast iron pan away from water otherwise it will rust as shown in other reviews. Before seasoning, Wash inside out with washing liquid first and last time. You need to clean wax which is coated to protect it in transit. Do not wash with liquid again or you have to repeat seasoning process.Clean it with towel . Heat it for 30 seconds and put a table spoon vegetable or other higher heat oil. Rub this oil all over the pan and put it in Max oven for one hour. Let it cool down and repeat this process for three times for proper seasoning. You pan will change colour from grey to black. Keep kitchen windows open. Once done store it in dry place. After every use, clean it as soon as possible. Do not use cold water and washing liquid. Use crystals salt and hot water to clean it, also use hot runny water. Once cleaned dry it with kitchen towel and heat it for one or two minutes, you can also put few drops of oil inside pan and heat it.Cast iron pan needs extra care but it’s better, healthier and safer than chemical coated pans.

Nice sturdy griddle. Great value for money.
This pan has some weight to it, which is good as it retains the heat well. It's nicely made and great value for money. There are a few reviews saying that it rusts or things stick, but maybe they don't understand the process and importance of seasoning cast iron cookware. All unprotected cast iron will rust, no matter where you get it from, as this is the nature of the material. To stop this from happening it's necessary to add a coating to the surface, which in this case is an oil seasoning. The pan arrived with a wax coating on it and grey in colour, which is the natural colour of iron, so it was not seasoned. I removed the wax coating and seasoned the pan 5 times using light coatings of vegetable oil which were baked onto the pan and as you can see from my photos, this made the pan dark brown in colour. The coating needs to be maintained and harsh cleaning methods will remove it, leaving it susceptible to rusting. There are plenty of websites and videos explaining this process of seasoning and maintenance. If you want a pan that you can unpack, give a quick clean and then use then this is not the pan for you. However, if you want to enjoy the benefits of cooking in cast iron and you have the time and knowhow on maintaining one then this is great value for money.

Just brilliant
This pan cooks the best meat I've ever had. Ignore the reviews with rusted pans, they are from people that don't know how to look after a cast iron pan properly. It is insanely well made and heavy duty; you can use this on literally any cooking medium except a microwave.Read up online how to care for your pan before use. Make sure to clean it, season it and preheat before use and you'll get amazing results. This is so great I've bought the KitchenCraft skillet of the same size for eggs.

Gets non-stick quickly after a few uses
Had this about a month and it's blackened beautifully. It's a solid griddle pan. Anything that weeps fluid as it cooks fries rather than boils.Just use it. Never use metal utensils, wash it with a brush and try not to use a scouring pad. Do that and it'll last a lifetime. The second pan is a smooth one I got a couple of years ago

Cannot recommend this item.
This product was really disappointing. I followed the instructions and the black still came off when washing numerous times. I would have returned the item but had disposed of the box and as there was no return label the postage would have been very high. I cannot recommend this item and have thrown it away.

Doesn't sear the way it really should
I don't mind having to season it from scratch.I don't mind that it's hard to clean between the grills.I don't mind that it's very heavy.I do however, mind that no matter what I cook on it it, it ends up in this almost steamed/air fried state because there's not enough surface area touching the meat. Even things like vegetables come out more soggy than crispy.I've tried to use it on and off over the years but it's still a major pain with not much results. Not to mention having to re-season it over and over and stinking up the entire house.

It looks as cheap as it was - I don't know what I expected...
This is probably cast iron as described, but it has a very light grey appearance which I just don't like. I was expecting a black finish like all other cast iron cooking pans I've got. The handle is also very short. I'll keep it because it wasn't expensive and I'll probably use it for something - but I'll order a 'proper' cast iron griddle pan too. There is a reason this one was cheap. After using it once I've decided to either throw it away or send it back if I can be bothered. It's just really awful! You get what you pay for and this is not worth buying. Don't waste your time and money - go for a decent one.

Horrible
This frying pan needs to be treated with oil before use and after use. It creates a lot of smoke as a result of this treatment. It is not something that was mentioned in the description.
