After once again waiting and suffering for months whilst I slowly go more deaf as the wax in my ears builds up, I decided it was time to book in at the doctors, only to be told that I must once again drip oil into my ears , causing almost total deafness, and wait for two further weeks untill a nurse could clean out my ears. I saw these ear syringes and decided to buy one and have a go myself. Whilst having a shower I filled the sink with warm water, filled the syringe and squirted the contents into my worst ear, after three syringe fulls of water had entered and exited my ear, my ear crackled and popped and then, hallelujah, the miracle of sound! The rushing sound of water on tiles, the whirring of the extractor fan, the glugging of the plug hole partially blocked with the biggest chunk of ear wax I have ever seen, a chunk which reminded me of the time I stubbed my little toe on the door case turning it all black and swollen.Anyway back to the syringe, I repeated the procedure on my remaining blocked ear, to my delight, another successful operation, resulting in another drain blocker. So to round up the review, if you would rather not wait for the national health to provide you with the service which you have paid for, then take your health into your own hands and buy this product, it really works.

I had been trying to clear my ear with the appropriate ear stuff and oil but without success. I used this syringe and it worked eventually with a lot of wax coming out in long soft strands. What you have to do is use it several times with warm water and not give up. It requires a pressure which starts slow and speeds up to an acceptable level for you. My husband was doing it for me and when it was finished he said that the ear which had been cleared had a smaller opening than the other ear! So I now accept that I will have to clear this ear out more often and not let it clog up - it should be easier to keep clear with this syringe. Good instrument but be patient!

If like me you're into DIY surgery, then this is another item for the toolbox. Western earwax can be dissolved by olive oil or something like otex (contains peroxide) which can irritate your ear. So while you must never stick cotton buds or anything hard into your ear, it's okay to drip some olive oil and then gently squirt warm water into your ear and clear any blockages using this fine implement. I am not a doctor, I just don't want to tax our over-burdened NHS if possible. Eastern earwax is drier, I have had no experience with it.BTW, those indian candles do absolutely nothing apart from casing BURNS in some people who use them. The waxy effluent they produce is from the candle, not your ear.

So when you think 'syringe' you often think sucking and not spraying. Not remembering my experience at the doctors when I had my ears syringed years ago, realising that you are just spraying water deep into your ear was a little disappointing for me as I thought, well, that's probably not going to work.Then I was proven wrong and it cleared my ear out after two sprays. Baring in mind I had been almost entirely deaf in my left ear for over a fortnight.If you get it, use warm body temperatured water, and just spray hard for 3-4 seconds at a time (over a sink or bucket as it will be messy) dry up your ear and repeat until clear.Be careful not to overdo it, there are health and safety risks you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of when it comes to perforating an ear drum!Just don't go wild, and you should be fine :)

A few weeks ago I completely loss my hearing ability, quite suddenly. As I was wearing NHS hearing aids I thought their had developed a fault . The autology department responded extremely to my wife's pleas for help only to be told my ears were full of wax and until that was sorted they couldn't evaluate the devices. At the doctors I was told to put olive oil drops in my ears and return to the surgery to have then syringed. I search Amazon to see if I could find a more immediate solution The Ear Syringe 112 gm. popped up along with the best review I've read in a long time. I followed is instructions in the bath and now I have no wax in them at all. I still went to the surgery to see what the professional thought . I was told that my ear drums were as clean as whistles. What a Relief.

This is the second syringe I bought now and it is much better than the first.Its a very sturdy construction, it's clear that it'll last for ever and could stand a bit of a beating.It is slightly larger than the first one I bought what's really handy when using it and it really works well.This clears out the ears without the negatives of cotton buds and is great for people, like me, who have occasional wax build up.I had to go to the doctors every 6 months or so or I'd become practically deaf, I've never needed to go in the 2 years I've started using these products. I have very clean ears (needed as I have to use in ear hearing protection for my job) and have had no hearing problems at all.Despite the slightly odd look of it, I highly recommend this product.
