Locke (Corps Security Book 6)

So the quiet brooding hunk of a man, we slowly got to know Maddox through the entire series, and worth the wait to get his back story and his HEA.These Corps Security boys, have been the most loyal, friendly and fiercely protective boys I've read about. Which all started with Cage in Izzy and Axel's book.I adore how the girls became such good friends over the years, how each of them had their men exactly where they wanted them. The boys thought they were in charge - hahaha little did they realise just who wore the trousers!Maddox was one of the sweetest men, he was always there when the girls and I mean Izzy, Dee, Melissa and Chelsea needed someone to confide in. He was like their big brother, and when you read what happened to hm, how he was treated by his blood family, his words and friendships with the girls hods so much more weight behind it.Blood most definitely define family.We didn't really know much about Emmy, other than she worked with the boys at Corps Security, she was the glue and the intermediary when needed, although she did begin to form friendships with the girls she seemed to keep her distance.So when she fled after Coop died, I wasn't sure she was coming back, but of course we new she did from Asher and Chelsea's book.What we didn't know was that the both had feelings for each other although she didn't hide hers, poor Maddox came across as a grade A - Ass!Has he redeemed himself, you bet your ass he did.As we get to know Locke, we learn about the demon's he's been hiding, and why they were there. He really wanted all his friends to be happy, but he never felt he was worthy of happiness.I'm so glad that Emmy was as strong willed s she is, any other person would have stayed hidden. She had plenty of sass, but also so much strength and courage.I loved their reunion at the Club, Syn, how he managed to over throw the bouncers. Her parents had also done a number on her, and we learn't how she came about with the boys and her friendship with Coop. They did have 4 years as friends before we all lost Coop.So Maddox and Emersyn now away from the hell hole called Syn, and together they begin to thrash out why Maddox stayed so distant and pushed her away. Loved how passionate they were and how they resolved their issues. Sexy times.He desperately wanted to protect Emmy in the hope that he could protect himself, Oh how that plan backfired.How she stayed so strong, does not beggar belief, but she was one ballsy girl. She believed in her and Maddox and was willing to fight for them him, for them; but a girl can only take so much.Putting herself in a very dangerous situation oh my word! my heart was pumping overtime, needing to get through the pages but also not wanting the story to come to and end.This was sort of a book of 2 halves, and in the second half their solidarity was second to non. Stood strong as a team.Helping each other overcome their demons, their sad and very distant paths. Their banter made you chuckle, but there was also times that you couldn't get past the lump in your throat, or stop the tears leaking.I don't have a favorite CS man, they have all been someone to look up to, and equally so have the girls.This was a story about beautiful love, friendship, family, protection with a side order of hot passion.They were both so broken, but with each others help mended each other. Became whole.I am so glad that all the boys got happy endings, and even through each couple faced some tough times, its been an absolute pleasure to join them all on their journeys and maybe see how the children have all developed.I'm glad these boys got so deep into your head Harper, and that we got to meet them.

Wow ,,, wow ,, what can I say beyond that ,,, well other than the sheer sadness of knowing this is the last in the series ,,, BUT at the same time holding out on the little bit of hope that maybe just maybe we will get a little more from Harpers Corps Security boys ,,, ideally in the form of Cohens story ;)So here we have the long awaited and eagerly anticipated story for Locke ,,, and man I man what a story ,,, in the previous books we have learnt this Mr Maddox Locke is one heap of a man ,,, a mysterious and tortured man ,,, we have had glimpses of him in the past but now we get all of him ,,, all of his strengths, weaknesses, the good, bad, and ugly ,,,, the demons that this man faces are things you wouldn't wish on anyone ,,, but with the strength that stands by his side in the form of Emmersyn he can accomplish anything? Surely? We'll not if he doesn't allow the walls to come down he won't ,,,Emmersyn has her own demons ,,, only Coop knew the full extent ,,, but he was now gone ,,, with the shame and self loathing and self blame ,,,, and without the love of the one man she has ever wanted ,,, she is empty and alone ,,, she runs ,,, she could accomplish so much if she just had his love ,,, Maddox Locke ,,, he is so cut off from feeling that she knows she is fighting a losing battle ,,, but then he finds her ,,, the hot and cold mood changes he shows her are too much for her to deal with ,,, there is only so much any one person can take ,,, although full of her own issues and demons she was willing to put that all aside to help him overcome his ,,, be there for him ,,, but how is that ever going to be possible if he won't allow it ,,,, time is running out for this pair ,,,, but will their time pass before they even get the chance to start?If you haven't read this series yet you need too ,,, it's awesome right from the get go through to the last word ,,,, gutted it's finished :(HIGHLY recommend :)

I've read and loved the whole Corps Security Series so I guessed it was going to be a certainty I'd love this one too. We've previously met Maddox Locke & Emmy in the previous books but this is their story.Both from broken pasts that continue to haunt them, Emmy had taken off after Coops death and Maddox was determind to track her down and bring her back. Only to find she'd run back to her parents...to the very people whom she'd been running from in the first place. After getting her out of there he finds there was more to her situation than he first thought possible.Maddox on the other hand has problems of his own, dealing with a traumatic childhood and family problems you couldn't make up. He'd joined the marines (where he'd met the other guys) after losing a limb his problems go from bad to worse and he believes he's uncapeable of any sort of relationship with any human being without destroying those around him. He's watched his Corps "brothers" whom are his family now settle down with families of their own but believes he's too tainted to ever have the same.Throw in a few one liners from Cohen himself! This kid is hilarious and the star of the series!This book will have you on a complete roller coaster of emotions but you will not be able to put it down!I was crying before i'd even started the epilogue knowing it was the end of an era if you like. But although we find out what happens to the rest of the Corps family we're left with the possibility of a new generation of Corps kids that I'm sure will all have great stories of their own to be told.Please Harper I know we're getting Cohen & Danni's story but there's scope for so much more from this fantastic family.Read the series you will NOT be disappointed, One of the best I've read in years!
