Like others replied, this peat moss spreader is quite nice. It was packaged securely and all parts were in the box. Assembly time was around 15 minutes.pros:1. Very heavy duty and excellent fit and finish.2. Access door runs the full width of the basket.3. Door clasps are on the side, not on the circumference. Means they won’t get pounded during use.4. Hardware used lock nuts to prevent loosening.cons;a. The instructions does not tell you the complete washer stack-up attaching the ‘bow’ base to the sides. Basically you need to sandwich the axle pins with the large washers.I made an improvement to allow me to tow the spreader behind my John Deere. The u-bolts and hitch parts (agri-fab) were purchased on Amazon too. Please see the picture of the hitch. It should not get in the way of using the spreader manually.Also, place some river rock in the basket with the peat moss. The rocks will agitate the moss by breaking it up further to help it exit screen. A couple of hand fulls should work. I’m not exactly sure what coverage I will get with one 2.2 ft^3 bag. I’m assuming from watching you-tube videos one bag will cover about 900 sq feet, or a 30x30 ft square.Have fun!

After looking at all the mulch 24" spreaders, I couldn't find the difference between the more expensive models and this cheaper one... So glad I went with the cheaper one, this thing is so nice... great powder coating, easy to put together, and very heavy duty....latches are really nice spring loaded design... to stay closed... used it first time today... only regret is , I didn't buy it sooner...ten bags of mulch spread in no time...aloha

Easy assembly. Sturdy construction.Folding shovel was nice touch.Worked for 4 hours with it...... But same job without the tool would have been all day.Choose your mulch/compost/ peat carefully. Smaller bits are better or you'll have to do multiple passes to get coverage.

This spreader is well made and easy to assemble. The latches do take a couple of cycles to find their home but other than that it works great. It will spread better if used when applied to dry grass……a whole lot better than trying to apply by hand.

Wow surprised how well built this spreader is. the accompanying folding shovel is also great quality finish, folds into tiny size, and it's a pickax & shovel combo, going to be useful in the car emergencyBack to the spreader, it came in a box well protected all around, the paint finish looks sharp, very simple assembly the drum already came in one piece (some other spreader on Amazon charges $30 more and you have to put the drum together from pieces!). very sturdy built, the bolts and screws are all heavy duty. Handle is perfect size. I have seen spreaders with adjustable handle on Amazon, TOTALLY unnecessary, over-complicates!This spreader is perfect combination of quality, cost, value, and design

During the spring I planted grass in my front yard and used peat moss to cover the grass seed. It was difficult to get it even, tedious, messy and took forever. I ordered this in the fall for planting grass in my backyard and over seeding my front lawn and some bald areas. It was quick and spread evenly. I had no problem getting it together. I think it will last me at least a couple of more years if I keep it stored properly. I am very happy with my purchase. The time and aggravation it saved me was well worth what I paid for it.

This was easy to fill and save us a lot of time. I am very glad we bought it. This will make spreading Peat Moss over our grass seeds much easier.

Product is ok will have to reverse the bolt on the drum because the way the instructions show it ends up hitting the drum stopping it from rolling properly
