I have tried many vanilla pods and in many occasions I was not impressed: the beans were old or not very fragrant.Then I discovered Vanillabazaar and for me this is another dimension!I also tried their Organic pods. The difference is that the organic ones are more fragrant and softer.These pods are still fresh, you can feel it in your hands and in your nose. After touching them, even the nice smell remain is still in my hands.I like Vanilla loose leaf tea. Unfortunately the typical vanilla tea I usually find on the market, is with vanilla essence or chemical extract, but I only like the real flavour.These vanilla beans are really good in my tea. I tried to chop some pieces and steep them with the tea leaves and the result is superb. Such an amazing taste.These beans are excellent, although I must admit the Organic ones from Vanillabazaar are even better.

Incredibly fresh, plump with a generous abundance of seeds, and boasting an intoxicatingly warm, earthy aroma. These pods deliver a depth of flavour my cakes, custards, and even lattes have been transformed, bursting with a rich, complex vanilla that is both sweet and nuanced.

I have always used vanilla essence in recipes rather than the pods but I'm fully converted now. I like the idea of these being sustainable and happy with the outer cardboard packaging. There is a plastic tube that will be needed to keep the freshness as the date on these is a couple of years. The delicious vanilla smell on opening the tube is fantastic and I've used one pods to make some vanilla ice cream. Slicing and scraping is just like I've seen on cooking shows and was easier than I expected.The ice cream was going to be good anyway but I love the extra flavour that's come from using these instead of vanilla essence. The tube seals well and will keep them fresh but I'm already on the lookout for ways to use them so actually might not last that long.

Vanillabazaar Sustainable Madagascan Grade A Beans - 10 Bourbon Gourmet Vanilla Pods arrived in resealable tubes.They are exactly as described, look and feel of a decent quality.I use vanilla sticks for my baking.Because 2 tubes arrived with 5 pods in each, I left one tube as it is, second I used to make a proper vanilla sugar.I used caster sugar, cut vanilla tubes horizontally so I took seeds out to add to the sugar, I also added rest of the sticks there. I put it in the airtight jar and I stir it from time to time.Vanilla sugar made that way has more flavour and is more aromatic and healthier that vanilin sugar available in the shops.Homemade sugar doesn't have any artificial ingredients. There is plenty of recipes available online how to make it.Great quality, well packed, definitely worth to try!

Each of the two tubes, contains 5 long pods. They are super fresh and smell amazing. The tubes seal well to maintain the freshness. The pods can be opened in the middle with a knife to scoop out the vanilla that can be used for baking. The quality and price are great! The smell is strong so you only need one max two pods each time.
