Come for the movie, stay for the series
As an enjoyer of both RWBY and DC, I found this unexpected crossover immensely amusing. It's the right amount of badass girl-boss goodness and sass with an undertone of feel-good energy. The characters find themselves displaced in time and space, needing to team up to work out - and break out of - the world around them. I really enjoyed the individual splinter missions of Jaune with Jess and the Bees with Diana, though I'd definitely recommend DC fans watch the RWBY series to get a full appreciation of the universe as the movie appears to be set midway through volume 7. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some light-hearted action.

It's very entertaining
Been watching RWBY since Volume 4 premiered, when I saw the announcement for this crossover I though, oh god, rooster teeth are that desperate for money but after watching it I found it very enjoyable to watchIt's remarkable how they took this concept of DC hero's meets the world of remnant and made it work in a way that didn't feel forced but also kept the element of mystery.Really looking forward to Part 2 :)

A fun romp for both franchises
Surprisingly sweet, with a lot of meaningful and engaging conversations between the characters from the colliding franchises that makes certain there's something here for everyone no matter why you choose to pick up this movie. The fights are thoroughly entertaining and there's a lot of potential for more here, with the hour long runtime making sure the pacing never lags but leaves the story open for future content. An unexpected success.

A handful of dust
A new Dc comics animated movie. Billed as part one. It is pretty much self contained, but does leave a loose end or two that will doubtless be followed up.It runs just under eighty mins. And it sees the Justice League meet RWBY. Teenage girl monster hunters in slightly impractical costumes from a popular computer web series with anime influences. Apparently. I was vaguely aware of it but knew nothing much.Best suited for those over twelve, thanks to a detailed plot and some mild violence. But nothing more extreme than that.Superman wakes up in a strange world where he meets two of the girls. But Supes is suddenly a teenager, and not got the same abilities he is used to. How did he get here? Where are his friends? And most importantly, what's going on?I am the wrong age and gender for the target audience of RWBY. But I have read many Dc elseworlds stories in my time, which put the characters into unusual settings. So this was just another of those to me in many ways. Thus I had no problem getting into it. Superman is voiced by Chandler Riggs. Who will always be 'Caaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrlllllll!' from the Walking Dead for me. So it's nice to hear him in something. He does a good job with the character, and has the right deep voice tones also.Although this does throw you in at the deep end, it's never confusing. And there's some intriguing plotting going on in the background. It does know where it is going with all this, and it's pretty satisfying when things come together. It also rewards you for paying attention.Every character does get some good character stuff. It does some great work with teenage Batman in particular. I like the understated nature of the voice actor for this one. And it ends up being a solidly character driven story. It's also a great one for Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, as it really knows her character. The character stuff is a little more interesting than all the fight scenes, but those are well storyboarded and pretty easy to follow. The animation is nice. Seems to be the same people as the recent Super Sons movie who did this. It looks three d in a way so it's quite eye catching and the colours are also. The ending for all the characters is a pretty nice scene as well.A good watch, and since they've not done Elseworlds in a long time, it was nice to see something like this. Looking forward to what part two has to offer.

Where do we go?
Animated teen superhero crossover movie made by the RWBY manga series animation studio in which The Justice League (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern and Vixen) find themselves on the alien world of Remnant and transformed into teenagers with no memory of how they got there, whilst their counterparts on Remnant, the heroes Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang also have missing memories and seem to be on a changed Remnant. The two teams must join forces to get to the bottom of these mysteries and identify and defeat the enemy behind this all before all is lost.I enjoyed this. I always like to see tales of young superheroes because these are always such greatly told stories. The dynamic of the now teenaged Justice League and the also teenaged RWBY heroes made for a great watch; seeing new friendships formed amongst the young people (such as Batman and Weiss and Green Lantern and Jaune), that sense of wanting to know where you fit, of believing in yourself, of encouraging your friends to be the best that they can be and of doing the right thing. The final and extended battle scene is sublime, as our excellent young heroes do battle with their enemy – and prevail. I liked to see the sisterhood between Wonder Woman, Blake and Yang that developed during the movie and also Superman encouraging his fellow leader of the Remnant heroes Ruby when she doubted her leadership credentials. And because of her friends, the greatest of the young people – Green Lantern overcomes her self-doubts and anxieties and fulfils her potential. And with Part Two yet to come, I look forward to more inspiring – and rewarding – viewing. Well done, Kerry Shawcross and the rest of the production team. #wheredowego
