Compact Smith Machine with Adjustable Bench

This machine hits all the right notes -- compact, works perfect, stable, easy to use. It's honestly great.Assembly is kind of a pain in the butt (as is any exercise equipment of this size with this many parts). I will say this though -- for the love of God, do NOT try assembling this with the included wrenches. They're toddler sized and the thickness of a quarter -- you'll want to throw yourself off the roof. If you use a socket wrench you'll finish in half the time (3 hours is a good estimate), and you wont have baby wrench dig marks in your palms. I'm serious, get a socket wrench unless you're a masochist.

Smith bar guided by bushing inserts and oiling of guide support . Not a smooth function while using smith bar. I was expecting some type of pulley system. When pushing and you are off level there is a tendency to get stuck.

This Smith machine works as well and is as smooth as any expensive Gym machine, has a very small footprint, is not too tall, and is worth every penny it cost. The bench is of lower quality, but very functional. Easy to assemble. A must buy for a home gym.

...there are two minor issues.First is that the 2" adapters have these nice looking, rounded endcaps on them. Those endcaps all popped off the first day of use. As soon as you slide a weight over them the pop off. Not a deal breaker but it leaves the bar looking "unfinished".Second, is that the slide rails NEED to be lubricated. The set came with the smallest amount of what can only be described as a gel. Not nearly enough to lube the rails. I lubed the rails with some silicone spray and they work great. Again, not a deal breaker but if you didn't realize this then it would have you possibly thinking that your machine is defective or even assembled incorrectly. It just needs to be greased.Those two things aside it is very sturdy and functions exactly how I would expect it to.

I was looking for a Smith Machine that I could fit in my garage because I usually work out by myself. I have a gym membership but I find it less time consuming to just go in my garage and workout. This machine did the trick along with the tower I purchase last year from another company. It takes up minimal real estate and I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a foldable bench. I didn't pay attention to the listing when I ordered it that a bench was included. I had a bench that I was going to use but this one folds up and can be placed out of the way. Be sure to get a silicone lubricant to spray the rails because it doesn't slide well without out some lube. When I assembled it, I was a little worried about the functionality but once I sprayed it with some lube, it works great! Ideally if you can bolt it down to the floor, it will keep it from moving but some spare weights on the rear weight holders keeps it pretty steady. I recommend this if your looking for a Smith Machine with a smaller budget and a smaller space to put it in.

The barbell doesn't glide smoothly at all. I didn't notice it before, but other Smith Machines have cylinder/round glide rods. This one has cube/square glide rods and they constantly catch—terrible design. You can't even use it. Even with the eye drop size lube included, it’s still catches due to the shape of the glide pole and bushing. It’s mostly sturdy and can be bolted down. I wasted 2 hours assembling it and will waste another half hour taking it down for a return.
