I wasn't sure this would work for my front door which is in a recess but it fits perfectly with room to spare. I have used 2.5" diameter curtain rings with it and they only just fit over the end pieces. Anything smaller wouldn't work with this rod. The rod itself It came sensibly packaged in a long triangular tube type box and took all of two minutes to fit. Once in place it seems very strong. I am using a heavy cotton king size duvet cover as my door curtain and it appears to be as strong as a regular curtain rod which has been drilled into place. I certainly have no worries about the curtain falling down anytime soon. I will be ordering more of these!ETA: (27/9/19) I've just bought two more of these rods to put up some curtains to help keep the house warm for the cooler weather and one of them came in an enormous box...Amazon, couldn't you have just stuck a label on the actual tension rod box instead of all of this extra cardboard?!

I use these to hold regular curtains wherever I need: dust curtain for DIY, window curtain where I haven't got regular poles up yet, to put an extra curtain up in the window recess during really cold weather, impromptu door curtain, anything but a shower curtain so far. The quality is excellent and I would absolutely buy again.

This is perfect for hanging my tabbed curtains in a small inset window in the bedroom without making any mess at all. The walls aren't the best for drilling into, so I was a big nervous about hanging a curtain pole. This is a super simple, practical solution to the problem. And next-to-no 'installation' required. You just extend the pole to the length of the gap, make it 1" bigger than that, and push the pole into place. Curtains hung in less than a minute!

This is the only curtain pole that works in my little cottage, the odd shape and lumpy walls has made finding an alternative a nightmare or hugely expensive. This fitted first time, so fuss, no mess and I loved it so much I ordered another one!

I bought this as a way of hanging my clothes as didn't want to buy a bulky wardrobe. It was a bit of a gamble but it paid off. This item is really sturdy and well made. The instructions were clear and simple to follow and I had no problems setting it up. Took all of about 10 mins - much better than taking all afternoon to build a flat-packed wardrobe! If you're in a pinch for a clothes hanging solution, I recommend this. Be sure to pay attention to the measurements so you have enough length to create the right tension for the pole to work effectively.

Rubbish product!! It doesn't work, weak material it doesn't hold anything. It keeps falling from the wall. As I purchased the large size, it bends in the middle with the curtain weight forming a curve shape and when you pull the curtain it falls. I booked the return but as we tried several times to close it to fit in the package, it got stuck and doesn't close any more. I had to cancel the return and waste my money.

Little bit of a faff to get it doing what I needed to. It kept spinning and spinning and I did have to open the whole thing up, put it back together and then try again. Once it was working the install was very easy and it holds very well. Won't be using it for pull ups, but I can't see my shower curtain budging any time soon.It is a little thicker and heavier than bars I've seen elsewhere.

I've rated this 4 as it was stressful finding that I couldn't install it over several days. I eventually realised that it was faulty. I've seen similar comments in this forum.If you begin to struggle with setting it up, get in touch with the company as the faulty ones are just impossible.A replacement was sent professionally and immediately when I reported, which was easier to set up, and is working and sturdy.
