Lovely to work with!
This is a new product from Sculpey, a great addition to the Premo! Accents range and is based on Premo! translucent.I was put off initially by the very large inclusions as it looked like it would be difficult to get a smooth edge before baking but it proved to be easy to clean up after cutting. It is quite soft straight from the package, so it's very easy to condition but can get too soft if you don't leave it to rest periodically. I wouldn't recommend it for canes but I got nice results with Mokume Gane and it gave me some beautiful beads that almost seem to glow after baking, even before I'd done any sanding and buffing. Once I had sanded and applied a small amount of Renaissance Wax, they buffed up to a beautiful shine and looked pretty much as good as real opals.I haven't used it with inks, chalks or paint but I found you could get a lovely subtle tint using very small pieces of ordinary Premo! colours. All in all I'd really recommend this clay as it's lovely to work with and gives some really beautiful results. I'll definitely be buying more of it in the future.

Sculpey PE02 5109 Premo Opal Accent Clay
review for Sculpey PE02 5109 Premo Opal Accent ClayI like the translucence of this clay, although you do have to roll it pretty thin. I felt that the "glitter" in it made it look a bit rough though even after smoothing. However, all in all I quite like it. I think next time I will try a different clay though. I have included a few before and after painting photos. As you can see I did burn one bit of it a little, so be careful of that. The paint went on pretty easily too. And you can also see how translucent it is, so thin layers of it would look nice around a candle holder or something.

Very hard to use
The clay was very crumbly and impossible to use on its own. Would not recommend this product

splits cracks and burns...fantastic? I think not! mushy over oily
I bought this elsewhere but was unimpressed it burns very easily on a low heat in the oven even when pre heated and the pieces lose their detail on them. I was really frustrated I googled tutorials on baking it how other's say to use the clay and did but every piece came out cracked or burn marks. calculate piece with weight thickness and time use a timer. place baking soda on top also to keep detail of design check.I was really angry I had sat ages making my pieces sculpting looked lovely before putting them in the oven. I now have extra sanding to do and a lot of glazing to bring the piece upto scratch. if I cant it will be binned and it was a piece that I was really proud of making. I don't even think I can re create the piece as it was something that just happened and I was inspired to make. I put a heavy pendant in for 30 minutes gas mark 1 and earrings also heavy both burnt. I love the style of the clay but, the other issue is it is very pliable when first opening the pack it is gooey and mushy instantly. I dont want a clay that is so gooey that on conditioning it , it falls into piles of oily mush.unimpressed with this clay looks nice to work with but after the piece is baked splitting cracking find this the same with all clays by premo from the new batches I have started using this clay recently as pretty as it is I don't find it any good.

Pretty but crumbly
Really nice opal effect however as other reviews have said it is very crumbly and therefore requires alot of working to soften or some softner without that its impossible to roll.

Buttato nella spazzatura
È arrivato così duro che sembra già cotto. Da buttare via. Ed era la prima volta che prendevo un'argilla polimerica diversa dal fimo 🤔

Great service and product
I received super hard and dried out clay. It was impossible to work with it. I wrote to Sculpey explaining the problem and I was recommended to return the product which I proceeded to do. I was instantly sent a replacement while not having to take the trouble of returning the old clay back. The replacement was perfect, the clay was workable and the results are great. This great customer service will have me coming back for more.
