If You Have Records To Keep, These Won't Disappoint
This is not the first time I've purchased these books. They are very long lasting with many pages and reasonably good quality paper. The line spacing is a little narrow, but I became acclimated to it. I like that there are no rings on the top or side to force you to contort your hand to write. If you are keeping records on something, these give you ample space to write. If you carry it in a shirt pocket it fits well and is comfortable. If you need to tear pages out of it, I would probably recommend something else like the inexpensive ring type pocket pads or the AMPAD evidence Mini Size Legal Pads (which are very reasonably priced and enjoy some of the same benefits). This product is a little price intensive, but I think it is well worth your consideration.

These are quality memo pads for people who don't need ...
These are quality memo pads for people who don't need to worry about all that nonsense of different ink properties on the paper. Seriously, who really cares if the ink looks a little different as long as you can take the notes you need to without searching father than your pocket? It's flexible and well constructed so you don't have to worry about it falling apart or stabbing you in inappropriate ways... It's almost identical to the ones I had when I was in the Navy, but these are a bit longer which is a plus. It still fits in my pocket and gives me more room for notes and to-do lists.

Green Brain: Top Loading edition
Ok, these are pretty much the gold standard in pocket notebooks, and as a lefty I appreciate the flip top access. The only reason I prefer the side opening green brains is it allows me to use more of the paper without flipping it back and forth and with more binding to page edge ratio lasts much longer. This top loader is great for taking notes on the fly, but I consider this version as a jotter...for taking temporary notes whereas the side one is more durable over the long term. However, either of these memorandum books are great, and much better than any "civilian" equivelant.

Good quality note pad.
I call this type of pad my "paper brain" and I have used many that are spiral bound. The wire always gets crushed eventually and makes using the pad annoying. This pad is better because of its low profile however, the binding could be stronger. I decided to modify mine before it saw any use by drilling 1/16 holes, 1/8" apart and hand sewing the binding. If it were not for this, I think that the pad would have come apart long ago.The pictures show the sewing project and a new pad next to the one that I have had in service for 14 months. It is carried in the cargo pocket of my pants, daily. It has seen a full summer in the South with its oppressive humidity.Overall, these little note pads are well worth the money and if the binding was better it would be worth 5 stars.

Memo This
I covered this memo pad in a review for this: Thick Classic Notebook with Pen Loop - Lemome A5 Wide Ruled Hardcover Writing Notebook with Pocket + Page Dividers Gifts, Banded, Large, 180 Pages, 8.4 x 5.7 Back to School SuppliesHERE'S WHAT I WROTE . . .Spent a lot of time looking over the many choices on Amazon. This is exactly what I wanted: Better than average quality without going overboard. If you like this sort of thing, (understated quality), check out these as well: Green Military Memorandum Book / Military Memo Book, 3-3/8" x 5-1/2", Dark Green, Top Bound, NSN 7530-00-243-9366 (3 Pack). Don't let the word "military" throw ya. These are just old school, top of the line memo pads. The notebook sits on a corner my desk, ready for me to jot down ideas. The memo pad slips easily into my shirt pocket and accompanies me when I go shopping. It's a substantial pad, which makes crossing things off your list as you're shopping real easy.I have no financial interest in these items. Nevertheless, I'm promoting them because, in a world full of mediocrity, it's nice to discover products that embody traditional values and work well.

Really good for on the go--flexible and sturdy and slips easily into a back pocket.
I bought these for hubby to carry around--at work and around--because, well, middle-age brain. We get forgetful. This way, he can jot things down right away whether I ask for something or he remembers he has to do/pick-up something or something has to be notated at work while not at his desk.It fits totally comfortably, flexibly in his pocket and he can sit without issue with one there. I got him a bullet space pen as it's small and can write any angle. Both fit well, comfortably, in his back pocket.I will definitely reorder. Thanks to the folks who reviewed it, as the reviews helped make it clear this was flexible and comfy in a trouser/jean pocket.Hubby is pleased. I plan to get the sidebound one for my purse. I carry a bungee type notepad in there, and that's kinda largish. These will be lighter and slip into one of the purse's side pockets or zippered one with ease.

Addicted to Pocket Size Memo Books
These memo books are excellent. I usually carry a pocket memo book with me, because I often need to make notes. The memo books that are spiral bond would get the spirals broken, smashed or bent in my pocket. The pocket size composition books worked good, but I thought a flip top memo book would work better. I searched Amazon and found these Military memo books and they work great. I am really pleased to find these memo books.

Not quite as expected
I have some side opening memorandum books and they have a hard cover, which makes them sturdier and easier to write in. I was expecting the same construction, but apparently they have changed over the years. Not happy with the soft covers, they won't last as long.
