The best I've ever used.
Solidly made, it did its job as it should.Pulley shroud is a weakness, is ok so far but should be made from metal, I think.I don't have original pole so I used old twist extension pole for paint roller, just cut off in half end plastic cap on thicker side. Does the job.

Good, but the pulley shroud is a weakness
While the tree lopper works very well, when paired with the 5m handle it can become hard to control. In my case it came down hard and hit the pavement, causing the plastic casing around the top pulleys to shatter. This part seems like it should be made from something more durable as once this is broken, it's game over for the whole tool. I'm not sure if this part is available as a spare for replacement but I was able to model up and 3D print a replacement part which got me back up and running. Check thingiverse where I'll share it.

Good product. Not too heavy and gets to the very high branches of ny neighbours overgrown and overhanging Spruce tree. Its well made and with the cutter, its about 17ft.fully extended. Was able to use it whilst standing on a small step ladder to get up to about 26 or 27 ft.high.Fully extended, of course its a bit wieldy but not heavy. The trick is to keep it as vertical as possible. It says it can cut branches up to 38mm thick. It made short work of the branches that I cut..I will use this for other trees near me and save money on professional pruning services.

Brilliant - best one I've ever had
This is my fourth tree pruner and it's definitely the best I've had by a long way. I've learned from trial and error that loppers need to be ratcheted so I was a bit dubious about this 'geared' one but it's even easier to use than my old ratcheted one. I'm a weak woman but I don't need any muscles to use this. Do buy the extra long pole to go with it. I can reach the top of my trees without standing on a step ladder. One word of advice - no matter what pulley pruner you buy the cord will come off the guides and get jammed if you try to cut a branch and another branch impedes the downward travel of the pruning head. It will also get stuck on the branch if you try to cut a branch that is too thick. Always have a plan B which involves a ladder and a saw! I've had to climb the tree to rescue my pruners on several occasions.

Keeps slipping off branch
The cheap one I bought from pound shop is better than this. There isn’t really a hook of any sort to latch it onto the branch before cutting. So the blade just pushes the branch out, instead of cutting it. When it does latch on, it cuts great. But the £5 one I got locally has a hook so the brach doesn’t go anywhere. This item is poor for the price and I took too long to try it out, so out of returns window.

Three Stars
Good quality but too heavy. The pervious model was a far better balance.

Does the job well
This is proving to be very capable. I have been using it on the end of the 5m pole to reach what had previously been inaccessible, and have been using it to cut branches up to 35mm with very little effort.Naturally at full stretch it can be a bit unwieldy (and some users might like to consider having someone else pull the cord so they can have both hands free to manage the pole) but I found it manageable on my own at full extension, and with the pole at a shorter length it is very easy to use indeed. It is an anvil pruner which is not obvious from the description currently showing on Amazon which as far as I am concerned is a good thing as I find that design is a bit more forgiving on thick branches - by-pass pruners can sometimes twist a bit on thick wood.

Darlac Tree Pruner Head
I am 63, 5'3" and slim(ish) build. Next door's wisteria gets all over our greenhouse roof. To cut it back I used a ladder last year and climbed and leaned but it was very difficult. This year I used the Tree Pruner with the Darlac extending pole. From the ground I was able to cut through even fairly thick branches very easily. You do not need to be Tarzan to use this, even on a roof. However, it is a bit unwieldy when it is extended and the cord does come off the pulley quite a lot. It is a simple matter to put it back on but it is a bit tedious. It was very good when lopping small branches off trees where it was easier to see what I was doing because there was not so much foliage.
