I love this Jump Rope!
When I first opened the package, I liked the handles a lot but the rope was all stiff and kinked. I looked over at the reviews of other Buddy Lee Jump Ropes and saw that people were recommending boiling the rope in water. I brought a small put of water to a light boil and placed just the rope portion into the water for about 1.5 minutes. I then turned off the heat and let the rope sit in the water for about another two minutes. When I pulled the rope out of the pot, the kinks were gone and it was a whole different animal--I loved it-- I quickly sized up the rope and attached the handles to get to jumping. I am use to jump ropes with thin metal core ropes which are fast and work great, but this jump rope with its long handles and weight of the rope just feels alive in my hands. I am much more aware of where the rope is while jumping than I am with my other ropes. I am extremely happy with this rope and love the green handles.

Above average jump rope that could use some improvements
I like the long handles for easy control but the swivel mechanism is not very smooth and it clicks a lot. I added some grease to the swivel to reduce the noise/clicks but this should’ve been done at the factory. The 4mm rope was a little kinked due the way it was packaged. Boiling it removed the kinks but it should’ve been stored in a circular pattern, not a long oval. Overall, it’s a quality jump rope that could be improved with some elbow grease and packaging adjustments. BTW, you can use a 5mm rope if you round off the ends.

Flimsy Manufacturing
This is by far the worse jump rope I have ever purchased. I have used it a few times during the week at home to practice DU's and under a month it broke (Got it May 6th, 2021) You can see by the pictures that there is no way to secure the nut back into the handle. You would need ultra-thin needle nose pliers to get the nut all the way into the top and hold it steady to fasten the bolt on top. Impossible to do. So if this happens it's rendered useless. I wish I could get my money back. The only thing this is good for is for a laundry line. Very disappointed. I had high hopes for this rope. Mass production poor quality.

Broke after a handful of uses, but customer service fixed it
Very disappointed that a $28 jump rope lasted one month. My 9 year old used the rope to warm up for skating, so nothing unusual about it. One day while jumping, the ring that connect the rope to the handle snaps off. With that said, customer service replied to my email and sent a new handle free or charge. So I give it 4 stars

The best rope
Skipping rope for decades now, literally spent several HUNDREDS of dollars on all types of ropes, and the superiority of Buddy Lee's jumpropes are unquestionable.Originally, the RopeMaster by Buddy Lee was the best for a few reasons:1. leverage (flickability- the ease of acceleration by flicking the wrist because of the weight distribution of the tapered handle),2. weight ratio of rope to handle (solid metal handles and thin wire ropes are the WORST),3. rope material (PVC so that you can skip on pavement as well),4. ball bearing design (not perpendicular so you don't have to exaggerate wrist positioning during crossovers)The only downside was that the hard plastic used in the RopeMaster becomes brittle with age. Even though the RopeMaster handles last me 1 to 1.5 years on average before snapping, I continued buying 4 or 5 sets because the balance was unmatched.Fast-forward a few years to me trying the VersaTrainer. This rope has all the upsides of the RopeMaster, PLUS the handle is 10x more durable because of the material manufacturing/ process. The only downside (as with all Buddy Lee ropes if you read the reviews) is if you don't know how to reattach the interior nut to the swivel bearings. It's actually not that hard once you figure it out. The trick is to drop the bearing into the handle first and make sure it aligns over the hole. Then press into the handle with the square end of a chopstick while screwing in the swivel bearing. The important thing is to apply some blue loctite on the threads before screwing in so that you'll never have to do this again.
