A great choice!
These tools have been the long standing workhorse for all my sculpting needs there are slightly less refined than other brands but it’s cheap and sturdy exactly what you want from a tool! I got two sets of these so I could modify one set to have different shaped ends and I’ve never needed to by any other tools for sculpting details, I would very much recommend this set for anyone who wants to sculpt as for storage options I keep mine in a old vhs tape box and they fit perfectly.

Useful tools but free pouch is a dud.
It seems like you'd probably have a tool for every need here and I'm looking forward to finding a use for each one. They're definitely useful for more than just wax (I bought them for using with clay). The tools seem good quality to me (I'm no expert there though). I imagine that if using for long periods and/or on a harder medium the grips would start to hurt (I intend to remedy this by using some sugru to add a softer ergonomic grip). At first look the free pouch seems like a good bonus but it ripped as I unfolded it (and I'm not sure if it wasn't already slightly ripped anyway since I'm not exactly she-ra) with no pressure on it at all. It's made of a cheap plastic and where it was folded I found that sliding in the tools, when they got to the ridges from where it was folded, it slid right through the plastic (you'd think a pouch to hold sharp tools would be reinforced enough they don't slice through like going through butter). Each slot could probably have been a little less tight a fit too, this would've made it less likely to slice through the plastic each time you slide one in. I know the pouch is free but you don't expect it to rip quite spectacularly the second you take it out of the packaging - a free gift isn't much good if it's not usable. This is the reason for dropping to 3*.One last thing, as a novice to this medium it would have been nice to have a leaflet in with the tools with suggested uses for each tool.

Good quality set of stainless steel sculpting tools
This set provides a good variety of useful tools for working with a variety of media. They are stainless steel and of good quality. I use them for working with polymer clay and find the variety of different heads very useful as well as handles which are also knurled for a good grip. The are easy to clean. You'll find a larger photo so you can have a closer look at them on the amtechdiy website. It is worth greasing them lightly a bit with oil or WD40 if you are going to put them away for a long time before using them again as it will protect the metal and help keep them nice. Clean this of well with soapy water before using them again though, particularly with something like polymer clay. The plastic case that the tools come in is OK, but more for packaging that permanent storage as the sharp tools do tend to poke through after a while.Very pleased with these tools overall.

At this price excellent
In view of the price these tools are very good. They come in a card backed plastic sleeve and a plastic tool roll is included, very handy for keeping them together. Stainless steel but the finish is a bit rough on some of them though I can't really complain at this low price, it's hard to believe anyone can be making any profit. A bit of a going over with some fine wet & dry paper improved the look of them greatly. Overall very good value at the £3.75 I paid, I've seen the exact same set going for £12 or more and I think that may be little OTT for what are basically a bunch of metal sticks with various points and spades on. However they do provide a wide variety of different and handy points and spades to shape and cut with.Any higher price and I wouldn't have given 5 stars but at this price excellent.

Decent tools for fine level soft material carving
Nicely designed, good quality metal and cleanly finished with no rough edges or burrs to score your work. These are small tools for fine level detailing or working on small carvings. They are all double ended and offer a wide variety of points for carving and shaping, Whether wax, clay or modeling putty, these are perfect for the job. Some points and edges are sharp, so caution needs to be taken when using these, and ideally they should be kept out of the reach of small people, or used by them only under close supervision. The set comes with it's own plastic pouch and each piece slots into a single slot in the pouch. This can then be rolled up so the tools are kept neat and together, and use a smaller amount of space in your tool box.Delivery was quick, and they came nicely packaged.

Awesome tools! Especially for Special FX
I got this for when I really started to get in to FX makeup on Halloween etc. A massive variety of tools that work really well, it has everything you need. The case it comes in isn’t too bad but I did accidentally puncture a hole in it with one of the sharper tools as the case was a little warped for some reason. But the case is irrelevant to how good the product is.

Very handy set, for much more than 'wax carving'.
You really are going to be hard pushed to find another set of poking and scraping implements of such a handy size or more sturdy material. They are intended for wax carving, so I suppose it was unnecessary to hone and sharpen the blades that could benefit from this, and there is only a fairly rough and ready finish--compared with, say, the similar 'blackhead removal kit, which has a smaller range of similar implements but with a brightly polished and smooth finish. Many people will find them very useful manipulation and poking, scraping tools as they are, with many uses around the house and garage. I think that, I will sharpen and polish my ones to increase their application further, but, I have to say that I'm astonished at how much I got for my money.

Good product for the money
Arrived a day late and the plastic used to make the storage pouch has a fairly strong cheap smell to it, but the tools are as advertised, i was expecting the tools to be smaller, all 12 tools measure between 15cm and 16cm long for anyone wanting a sense of scale, and the sharper pointed tools come with a piece of plastic tubing covering the points for safety. I bought mine for scratchbuilding warhammer figures out of milliput, and the tools are precise enough for this very small detail work. Good product for the money, would recommend
