Rock Bottom Girl: A Small Town Romantic Comedy

Do not miss it!
This was another fun, engaging, swoon-worthy and emotional read by Lucy Score! I love sports romances but the ones that have a girl soccer coach hit different and Marley was a spectacular one at that! I loved Jake, he was the perfect mix of sweet, adorable, grumpy and swoony! He was just so awesome and I couldn't help but love him the second he was on page! Marley has some self-esteem issues and thought that she was always destined to botch things up but this time with the help of her wholesome team of rabid teenage girls, she finally got a reality check that not everyone's life around her is as perfect as they portray. I really enjoyed the setting of the small town and the way all the side characters came together like a huge happy family in the ending was so heartwarming! I couldn't describe how much I loved every single side character (with the exception of some bitter characters) along with Marley & Jake! I was obsessed with this story and I didn't want it to end but the bonus epilogue gave me a sense of satisfaction and close and made my heart swell with happiness for Marley & Jake's little family! I loved every minute of this story and just could not get enough of it

A good book
It's a well written romantic comedy, which makes you laugh out loud at quite a few places. The characters are well defined, and plot is perfect for a relaxing read.

Just amazing!
It had the right recipe of good ol’ fashion small town humour, fun, adventure, exciting sport games, motivations, disappointments, sadness... all of it! I loved it! Lucy Score just never disappoints!- Review by RW ( the wifey)

Heartwarming, humorous, and poignant read that I wholeheartedly recommend.
I’m absolutely enamored with Lucy Score’s work yet again! Her latest romantic read was an absolute delight. Marley Cicero finds herself at rock bottom in life - no job, no boyfriend, and no place to call her own. With little choice but to retreat to her hometown of Culpepper, a place filled with haunting memories, Marley is desperate for a fresh start. When she lands a temporary coaching gig for the Girls’ soccer team, despite having no experience, she faces the challenge head-on. The team’s morale is low, having suffered numerous defeats, but with determination and a bit of luck, Marley dives into the role. Enter Jake Weston, her childhood crush turned coach and teacher at the same school. He proposes a deal - he’ll offer coaching pointers, and she’ll guide him in navigating relationships.“Relatable” immediately comes to mind when I think of Marley. Her insecurities, low self-esteem, and longing to prove herself resonated deeply. Unlike other female protagonists who often seem perfect, Marley felt authentic and relatable. I admired her resilience in the face of adversity, she refused to let life’s challenges defeat her. And then there’s Jake - charming, witty, and with a hint of mystery. What I loved most about him was his unconditional love for Marley just as she is. He believed in her when she doubted herself and never gave up on her. Plus, his talent as a history teacher added an intriguing dimension to his character.✨“It’s okay to care. It’s okay to want to win. It’s not okay to tie your worth as a human being around something like a win or a loss.” The book boasts a delightful array of characters - Marley’s endearing parents, Jake’s quirky uncles, and a cast of supporting characters like Vicky, Libby, and the lovable fur baby Homer. I grew fond of them all.My only critique would be that the story felt somewhat drawn out, trimming it by around 50 pages would have tightened the narrative.Heartwarming, humorous, and poignant read is one I wholeheartedly recommend.

finding your purpose
We all leave after high school well some of us. Marley didn't have the best high school memory. But twenty years after she left she came back, with no job, no money, no husband to find her footing. To find herself and realize she still had a crush on Jake Weston.Loved it

A hilarious story that teachers very positive things
El libro es divertido, educativo y original.🇺🇸 This book was a surprise. I liked the cover, the blurb seemed interesting and from the second page on I was laughing. It’s a realistic story, with funny characters that experiment feelings and situations that at some point everyone has felt. And even if it’s full of humor, it also shows the way women can be towards other sisters. The importance of communication, the power of sorority and to always change perspective are the main things this book gave me.It’s funny, interesting and original.

Perfect high school/ small town story 🥰 Don’t be put off by the 500+ pages 😉
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and i loved it. It was a mix of YA and chic lit. I would say it’s a grown up YA book which I found really special and unique. I’ve never read a story like this before as so many authors struggle to get the writing right when they switch from a teenager to an adult character but Lucy Score got it just right 👍.If I’m being honest I was a little worried that I’d give up half way through especially with the book being 500+ pages but it was such a page turner and so much happened that I didn’t get bored at all It was amazing ⭐️ i loved the characters they felt like friends (my favourite was Libby), the setting, the writing i cried and I laughed a lot too. Plus it had a dog in it too🐶. How could you go wrong? The s*x scenes 🍆 wow🙈😮💨 they are pretty explicit but come across respectful and funny too and are only in the middle of the book. I wouldn’t change anything about this book 🥰I also loved the bonus wedding chapter that you get by tapping on a link from the kindle version of the story.Bye, 👋 I’m off to order the rest of Lucy Scores books now ….

This book was a riot!
This is the first Lucy Score book I've read. It won't be the last. It covered a topic which a lot of people deal with. Mean spirited, unkind people that make others miserable. It was side-splitting funny with great dialogue. I loved the characters of Jake and Marley. How Jake showed Marley how great she was he encouraged her to believe in herself and helped give her self confidence. I loved how she encouraged her girls to fight and helped them to be kind and show team spirit. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
