I've used many solder suckers over the years. This is the best. You don't have to clean it out every two seconds. It gives a powerful suck and is not too big. It is well made and withstands use all day.

Have used other pumps that are pretty much useless,I was pleasantly surprised by this one,it still requires practice and presion but compared to the other manual options this is by far the best

I have wanted to learn and practice soldering for a while and a friend recommended using desoldering wick to remove solder. I tried. It might be easy for others but after a week of on and off practice soldering I needed something that could reliably get the solder off for me. I looked at various reviews for different solder suckers and it's very mixed. This stood out because of the silicone nozzle.Other solder suckers have a plastic end meaning it can't seal around the soldered component and has less effective suction. The silicone nozzle has a fairly high temperature resistance (around 350C if I recall correctly) and after a week of bad attempts to use solder wick I used this and was shocked at how much better it was. I'm new to soldering, this might be the norm for experienced people but for me it was great. It removed a lot of solder the first time and enough that I was able to repair a switch on my Logitech G915 after removing it and resoldering it. I recommended it to a friend and he has more experience soldering. He is the one that recommended I try desoldering wick and after using this he said it was the best he'd used.With regards to others having broken or damaged pumps after little use I can't comment. Mine has worked for me and my friend is still very happy that I told him about it. I would recommend a pair of helping hands as I found myself trying to hold the soldering iron, the pump and wanting to hold the part I was working on. Lastly, this is a thing to check. The red / maroon end of mine was not fully screwed down and after hitting the button it flew off. I screwed it back on fully and it's fine but it doesn't hurt to check.

Having used the standard Green ones throughout 40 years in servicing, i bought this so i can do some work in retirement and its just superb. I wish i had been using it before as it works so well it would have saved me hours.fantastic product.
