Keeping It Active: A Practical Guide to Rhetoric in Performance

This book has been integral to my work with actors on the art of rhetoric since it was released. It is written with clarity and expertise, which means the reader is able to lift the exercises off the page and make them live in the rehearsal and performance moment. There are a plethora of diverse texts explored in the book but one can also easily take any of the exercises and apply them to other texts, both classical and contemporary. Some voice books are difficult to lift off the page but this is full of exercises that are quite obviously born from Jeanette's immense practical experience working with actors fin rehearsal rooms in an embodied way. A must for anyone teaching Voice both in the Drama school environment and to actors everywhere.
