76 Graded Studies for the Flute [Book One]

I've just received teh book. It's composed of progressive tunes destined to be played by beginners for the first few tunes and increses in difficulty as you go along. (When you finish teh second book, you should also reach grade 8). I am on my way to my very first exam and I like the first few tunes.I was given Book 2, but it's out of my reach at the moment.As I see it, in Book One, there's an increasing challenge in terms of signature (Number of sharps or flat), Tempo, from even to uneven rhythm), simple ( 2/4, 3/4, 4/4) to compound time (compound duple or triple time), dynamics ( piano, forte; then all the shades in between), articulation ( staccato or legato), scales, arpeggios, double tonguing etc; they are all represented here, so you have a chance to practice them. There seems to be in this 1994 edition a lot more Baroque flute and a few of the twentieth century.I'm pleased because I love the Baroque period for the flute.If you finish book one you will have accomplished a great deal which would take you up to grade 3. Good range of studies. Was concerned they would be too easy (for grade 5 / 6) but they get progressively more challenging as they go through so some good sight reading.

Bought this music flute book together with a flute for my granddaughter who is learning the flute at school. She is thrilled that she can now practice at home with her new flute and music book.

Great book for beginner flute students.

This is for my wife who is learning to play the flute. She says it is very nice as of now but is unable to give a more detailed feedback as she has just started working with it.
