老干妈香辣脆油辣椒 Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chili Crisp 7.41 oz (Pack of 2) Set of 2

I’ve tried a few brands but always come back to this one. I don’t even particularly like spicy foods in general, and my family was very surprised at how much I like this. It’s fantastic stirred into a stir fry, or on gyoza, or even added to pizza.

This stuff is delicious! We use it in ramen, stir fry, eggs, etc. It's honestly one of my favorite condiments. This seller did a great job of packaging the jars as well. Each jar was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then both jars were put in a plastic bag together so they didn't roll around and bump into each other.

The media could not be loaded. Many people like to season their food with salt and pepper. Or cook with butter. I use the Laoganma.This stuff is like a legal, crunchy crack. If you love spicy food, you will devour this.I’m someone who needs chili flakes on everything, and this is a mild spice for me. For those who aren’t accustomed to spice it will probably be very spicy.It has this crunchy texture that is to die for. Sometimes I even try to separate the chili crunchiness from the oil and use the oil for cooking or spicy salad dressings. I find that it’s super versatile and the quality is just phenomenal.It looks really red spicy and pretty but I am not a chef so I can’t speak to whether or not it would be beautiful as a dollop on the side of a dish or not.It’s a little bit salty, and the slightest touch sweet, so I literally use it in place of seasoning. I put it in soup, I spread it on toast, and I even take a spoonful of it and put it on my vegan mac & cheese.It’s got such a great crunch to it, and because it has oil and salt in it, I find that for me it’s a great seasoning for so many different things.Can’t speak to how healthy it is, but I’ll tell you that I’ve purchased them over and over and over again.And yes, I purchased the packs of 4 over and over again because they are worth the money to get in bulk because of how frequently I use them.(please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors. I use voice dictation and can’t be bothered to proofread. 🙃)

Numerous brands are available, recipes also, but this brand is widely and readily available (at least for me). Usage as a condiment is unlimited (my opinion), and works very well with other condiments (jazz up the mustard, ketchup, mayo). Not way too hot, but crunchy and salty.

This is my single favorite ingredient in the kitchen; it improves all my favorite dishes!

Where has this stuff been all my life? I put it on almost everything, including fajitas. It seems to work with all kinds of proteins... beef, chicken, pork, kingfish, shrimp, ramen, pho, still learning. I love the crispy bits, little crunchy surprises in your mouth, mmm. My next order has to be the restaurant service size. When I got it, of course I tried a tiny bit from a spoon. I wasn't impressed but I persevered and added it to that evening's dinner, chicken fajitas I think. Just one fajita to be safe. It blew my mind, combined with food, this condiment takes off and really shines, nice degree of heat, unique flavour and then that crispy crunch. My pantry will now always have a spare jar or two, just in case.

Sometimes when we’ve ordered Lao Gan Ma from other sellers, it seemed to lack spice. Makes me wonder if it was less fresh. But this Lao gan ma was delicious and flavorful!

I’m so glad this product is available through Amazon. I first purchased it in a Chinese grocery store. It’s my favorite addition to a package of ramen for a quick bite with just the right amount of kick. I’m eager to try many other uses now that it is readily available. A must item for my pantry.
