First, let me say I bought the Kindle edition. I was apprehensive about how the color plates would look when put into this form, but I needn't have worried. The color of the plates comes through wonderfully.This is a book for every costume historian or enthusiast's shelf. It gives a wonderful overview of the fashions of the day. Now I will have to purchase a physical copy to put on my shelf!

As a theatre costumer, I am picky about the type of details shown in design books. This book has so many beautifully detailed drawings to use for design. Lots of different styles, underwear, outerwear, and kid's items. Lovely!

I consider this book an excellent reference for clothing of the 19th Century.

I have this book in hard book version also. If you love history and womens costuming of the past you will enjoy this book.

Very informative book. Very much enjoyed. Also takes you back to see what the magazine may have looked like back then.

This book is full of great illustrations that are good for inspiration for seamstresses. I can't wait to use the ideas!

Au bout de quelques pages de robes de bal,de promenade,de sport...j'étais plongée en plein milieu du 19e,surtout avec les gravures en couleur.

des reproductions de magazines d'époque, beaucoup d'images, complète bien une bibliothèque de mode. Livre souple et léger, très pratique en plus.

１８３７年から６９年までの表紙のようなドレスのイラストがたくさん載ってます。８ページ以外は白黒ですが、細かいラインによる陰影が味を出しています。また、ドレスだけでなく、靴や帽子や付け襟、コルセット、アンダードレス類、アクセサリー等も少しですが載っていて、おたく心をくすぐります。ほとんどが女性のドレスです。私は英語がさっぱりですが、各ドレスに（かなり）短い解説つき。
