Worked like new printer

I purchased this product and it was the wrong size for my printer but I had already opened the package and the print head appeared to be used as it was leaking black ink from the large port and it felt like it was covered in cleaning solution as the interior of the packaging was wet and the print head was wet. So I returned the product. I would post a picture of the tissue that I used to absorb the black ink from it but I wasn't planning on writing a review and decided today that I would. So I have to give it a one star.

My Canon MX870 printer has been dying slowing. By cleaning the printhead I was able to return it to service a few times, but the image quality was poor. I was concerned about ordering this printhead with so few reviews, but looking at the reviews and prices of new printers convinced me to give this printhead a try. I have only been using it for a couple of days, but the print quality is now crisp and colors are true, like when the printer was new So, I am very happy so far. I will revise my review later if it fails rapidly.

Had a Canon MX870 showing error code B200. Was on the verge of buying a replacement printer, but I watched a couple YouTube videos that had suggestions on how to clear the problem. The one that actually worked (so far, at least, fingers crossed) was ordering this part and installing it.The 4 stars instead of five and the BUT come from - when I opened the foil packaging, the new part came out DRIPPING WET! Several of the videos I watched showed taking the malfunctioning print head to the kitchen sink and washing it with soap and water, so I didn't panic. Quick inspection showed no corrosion or other damage, so I went over it with an air duster and a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol. Clean and dry, I installed per the video and it seems to work fine. I'm guessing the new/ reconditioned parts are washed as a last step before packaging, but for crying out loud let them dry before you seal them!

Have a 13 year old Canon MX870 that has been a faithful friend. Was beyond delighted that this replacement printer head “healed” it in a matter of minutes.Free advice:Wear gloves when changing out heads.As suggested by another reviewer, carefully dry the new head after removing from sealed packaging.You don’t need to be a mechanical genius to complete the swap!!

Fast service and very accommodating. I did not notice that there is a plastic film protecting the head. Just have to remove the film before use.

And does not fit my Canon MX922.Returning. Too good to be true, of course.
