The lamp came packaged in a cardboard box with the lamp itself wrapped in a plastic bag and the lightbulb in a separate cardboard box. The lamp measures a maximum diameter of 16cm and has a height of 15.5cm. The lamp has a simple, easy to use switch on the power cord and although the power cable isn’t the longest, it will be adequate for most applications.The lamp itself is made from a black electroplated metal with a wooden base which appears to be lacquered. The metal cage has no sharp areas and doesn’t seem to have any areas where the electroplating has missed so should be rust resistant. The base also has a foam layer to protect your side table from any scratches.The lamp comes with an E27 LED ‘vintage’ bulb and although the box does not indicate the wattage or colour of the bulb the product description does day that it is 5W with a 3000K colour temperature which I am inclined to believe as the bulb has a nice warm glow to it. Of course, you can replace this with your own choice of bulb (in terms of temperature colour) but be sure not to exceed the 60W limitation.I would say is suitable for quite a few places in the house, but we intend to use this on our hallway table as it has a very minimalist, modern design that works best there. The metal shade diffuses the light somewhat and creates a nice pattern on the surrounding surface. Priced at £19.99 at the time of reviewing I think this is a well-built lamp and I like the industrial style.
