I had no idea that my ears could be damaged by my pillow, but my dermatologist said my chondrodermatitis was being caused by my pillow and that it is very common among older men. I just took a nap with my Holey Pillow. It was very comfortable and it protected my ear. Good job Holey Pillow.

This pillow allows me to sleep comfortably on my back or side. It has different heights for neck relief. I highly recommend this.

I could only fit the upper 3/4 of my ear in the oblong hole. After a few nights my earlobe would get sore due to the pressure of resting on the edge of the hole. Would have been fine if the hole was actually round.

I found the pillow exactly as advertised, so I give it 5 stars. The pillow is flat on top, so my head lays on it at a slope because the pillow is a little thinner than the height of my head above my shoulder. Some way to "shim" the pillow would be nice. That way its thickness could be adjusted.

This pillow is well made and a great value, but is also very firm. However, it considerably relieves the 'condroderma' sore on my ear (after unsuccessful surgery). After a few nights, my ear does not ache anymore. After several weeks, the 'nodule' on my ear seems noticeably reduced and not inflamed. I finally realized that it is purposely designed this way. If the memory foam were any softer, it would collapse all or part of the hole in the middle, defeating its purpose. One issue: Filling is a bit higher at the top and one side, but you can always position it to find the most comfortable position. (It cannot be opened to redistribute foam shredding.) The hole is not completely round, but slightly angled at one end, but fits my ear perfectly -- a feature, not a bug. The removable cover is a plus -- high quality and easy to remove and wash. Shipping packaging was excellent; compact, sanitary, carefully done, and easy to remove. By the first night, it was almost fully inflated. Like most memory foam, the longer you lay on it, the softer it will get.
