Roswell - Season 1-3 [DVD] [2000]

A fool such as I was yearning for a late-90s teen drama in the realms of Buffy, and thought/hoped Roswell might scratch that itch, with alien teens on the run from eeeeeevil forces.The sad truth was that this had a lot more in common with the over-emotional goings on of Dawson's Creek than cool paranormal stuff, drip-feeding the smallest amount of sci-fi tension into proceedings awash with the terminally dull on/off romances of the teen cast, who are all uniformally pretty middle class kids who could win medals in brooding and sulking.A few bright spots here and there towards the end of Season 1 weren't enough to escort me past episode 3 of the second season, at which point I had to make a choice between stubborn completion and my own sanity, so ejected the disc, skimmed the very last episode to see my fears confirmed that it culminated in a wedding (yawn) and exorcised the box from my home for good.Given how boring this show is, I'm surprised it ground on for three seasons. Some of the talent passing through went on to do quite well, which is something I guess.

This was my favorite TV show 15 years ago, when I was still a 'young adult'. Now in my 30s, I had a fit of nostalgia, and bought the boxset. Yes, you can feel it's a little 'aged', but hey, it was made 15 years ago, when special effects were just about to leap forward. But this show was never really about the special effects. It was about the characters and their relationships with one another. 15 years later, the show still delivers. My husband has never watched it, and he finds himself actually enjoying it. It has the right amount of drama, love story, comedy, etc.The casting for this show was remarkable. Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby had a chemistry I have not encountered in any other TV show or film since. Max & Liz are 100 times more sizzling than Edward & Bella. Even the supporting cast is top notch. It's a pity that shows like this one are becoming rarer, making room for ugly and boring reality TV shows like Big Brother.It only lasted three seasons - and I still think the series probably arrived on the scene a decade too early. Had it been on TV in 2009 rather than 1999, then the show may have lasted longer (particularly with Netflix' support).

I remember this from back in the day and loved the show then. Recently 4music has been showing reruns and it brought back alot of good memories, alas they cut it before the actual ending so i searched good ole amazon and voila here was the complete colletion for less than 20 quid how could i resist. I am actually watching now and very happy indeed.

First of all.. I am very pleased with this DVD Box Set that I brought recently. I had watched all disks and they are in perfect condition that why I have given 5 stars. Now to Roswell... I'm a new fan of Roswell.. I did not see this when it was shown on tv back in 1999. I did not realise at the time that it only went on for 3 seasons before it ended all together... which was a shame because after watching my box set ... I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chemistry between Max And Liz was awesome and the supporting characters was great two. The whole seasons were way out of this world . I believe there is another Roswell currently showing... but you can not beat the original... that is due to individual actors and actress.. and certainly Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby made it worth watching. Sad that Colin Hanks did not stay for the 3rd season and they killed of his Character Alex. But I guess Colin wanted to leave due to wanting to do films. So yes I recommend this . I totally enjoyed it

I really like this, I remember watching it years ago and sometimes in those circumstances you get a terrible shock as to how bad these programs you have fond memories of really were, but not on this occasion. Really pleased with purchase.

I first watched this on sky tv and got my mate to record it as it looked pretty good from the adverts. I was right. Roswell is a great little series that went on for 3 seasons. Its about aliens who live among high school students and are infact students themselves. They crashed in the now famous Roswell incident that took place many years ago. Its about 3 main aliens who try to keep their identity secret but on teenage girl discovers who they are. Things don't go straight forward and there are lots of trouble to try get out of but for me I couldn't wait to see the next episode to find out how things will turn out. Towards the end the studio or company who made the series seem to have rushed the ending but at least they didn't stop the show half way through like a lot of American shows that it has happened to over the years due to ratings. Its good boxset and my son loves it. Very enjoyable.

I'd never seen this when it was on TV and I got bored one day and decided to buy the boxet and marathon it. IT WAS SO GOOD.I really do love this show and it's a shame I didn't watch it back in the day.The third & final season was a bit of a let down, mostly due to Isobel's character (she turned into a caricature of herself and was endlessly annoying. Also: what was up with the Jesse storyline? So forced.) and Maria (who just got on my nerves in general with her attitude and whining). I also feel like Michael's character was neglected a little and wasn't a strong as he was in the first two seasons.Liz and Max remained on-point though and I thought the ending to the show was fantastic!

I absolutely loved this show when it 1st came out and when I came across this boxset of all 3 season I had to buy it. Shiping was fast and the price was literally unreal. I am so thankful for this seller and his great prices. Would not only recommend you watch this series but I would 100% recommend this seller as well.
