Fun and informative
I'm normally not a fan of travel books because, let's be honest, some of them can be really boring. When I saw this book geared towards women, I had to give it a try (especially since I had to do some research for my upcoming Roman holiday). I was not disappointed (or bored)! This book covers everything from shopping to eating to sightseeing (but it covers the best of it all). I took the author's suggestion and went shopping at vintage stores (Blue Goose was a favorite - the owner of the store was very friendly and helpful) and also made a stop at Tazza D'Oro for some amazing (!!) coffee. If you are looking for recommendations on the best spas, which souvenirs to bring home, which terrace to go to that has the best view of the Colosseum or simply want to learn more about the founding families of Rome, this is the book for you. The author also covers different neighborhoods of Rome and explains how to get around. This is a great book and I can't wait for the author to release guides for other cities.

Fabulous Book!
Ladies, this is the book you have been waiting for about touring Rome.It is a delightful and well researched romp through the back history of the eternal city.It is an easy read that takes you from the airport to your stylish, but budget conscious hotel, right through the glorious palazzos, fountains, gourmet gelaterias and lux cocktail bars. The back story of the women's influence on the politics and architecture of Rome and the Vatican make it so much more compelling to the modern woman. Ms. Darcey redefines luxury travel with experiences that will involve all of your senses, giving you a true sense of life for women in Roma and still have a few euros for that Italian handbag. This book is pure pleasure.

A cheeky, fun guide to Rome!
Ms. Darcey has written a fun, informative, and sometimes cheeky travel guide for 'The Eternal City'.Although the guide is written with a women's POV, as an adventurous male traveler, I appreciated all the tips, suggestions and recommendations. This is easy to read, cross reference and use as your 'go-to' guide.Highly recommended!Grazie mille, Ms. Darcey? What's next?Peut-être Paris?

Clever and Insightful
I travel a good bit and this book has wonderful insight to a fantastic Roman holiday. No one likes to be the obnoxious tourist but a tourist you will be, so you might as well be the best tourist you can be. This means eating like locals, taking a coffee, and walking to shops, whilst of course visiting all whatever fountains, museums and palaces you want to see.I also appreciated the candor this book takes towards the necessary and unnecessary when it comes to what to bring or which areas of town to stay in or whether or not food is good or mediocre. Food is one of my favorite parts of traveling and if I can avoid the mediocre I will.I also enjoyed the bits of history mixed in. It has more than other guide books but not so much it is overwhelming or dull.I am visual person so it could use more pictures but there is a link to the Princess website for more visuals. This guide book would be good for anyone who wants to visit Rome, woman or man.

Great guide to having an awesome time
This book is so good, I wish I had read it before doing a bus tour in Rome....I would have taken a Vespa instead and would no doubt have been swept off my feet by a sexy & sophisticated Italian man instead of just pinched on the bum by sleazy ones. I can't wait till belinda darcey writes more books. She has taken the lucky dip out of randomly choosing an area to stay in and deciding what to do, (& inevitably getting lost and having a bad time) I think if you do the things she suggests, Rome would be an amazing, unforgettable trip and you would come home with some great stories! Please write more :)

Fun, shopping tips and others.
It's fun and has a good amount of pointers and suggestions that other guides may not (shopping for example). I'll recommend it to a friend.

Holiday!
I cannot put into words how much I love this book. It is funny, informative and written as if your best traveling buddy wrote it. Her recommendation for the Vespa tour alone was well worth the price of the book.

Practical advise on visiting Rome
Finding this guide very easy to read. It’s titled, ‘‘The Princess Guide’ but I think it’s applicable to a wide range of travellers. Belinda has kept the information succinct and humorous. Some good practical advice included and good ideas for those on various budgets, and time frames. Highly recommend.
