Great for us, install through drywall possible, auto control is neat
Installed as new fan where previously was nothing, in finished ceiling. Install not too bad, but had to bend over tabs on outside to fit it through rough opening in drywall. Totally doable, but not designed to fit through hole in drywall right out of the box.Controls seem to work well. "Auto" humidity sensing turns on once in a while, which is good since we have in a basement bath. Very quiet on auto, which is a very low speed. Quick flick of wall switch (off then back on) changes from auto to full speed. Seems you have to flick off/on again to go back to auto (or just off), wish it had a timer to return it to auto function. It is pretty quiet in both modes, but not silent in high speed. Also not load enough to cover any other sounds in a bathroom.Has an LED behind grille to help know what mode, blue in auto, orange in full speed.I'd buy again. Simple and effective.

Excellent customer service and fan good value
I purchased this fan twice because I like the humidity sensor feature, the relatively quiet fan, and led indicators for mode. The humidity sensor is a small part attached to the fan (optional) and after 4 years, this sensor failed. I contacted customer service. They were polite and responsive and replaced the humidity sensor. I wholeheartedly recommend this bathroom fan with the humidity sensor.

Stylish but noisy
Wanted a DC motor exhaust fan but had to fit the opening of the existing fan. It looks nice and like the ability to set a humidity level. But 2 Sones! Quite noisy for a DC motor exhaust fan.

Very happy with this fan
This fan is great for our needs. Money was well spent.I replaced a typical, new-build fan which was loud and underpowered. Install wasn't bad. The new fan fit in the same spot as the old fan. Just had to swap out housings. We leave it on all the time. The blue light is bright enough to see at night and not bright enough to wake someone up. The fan does run sometimes when the shower has not been used for a while. I like the fact that it has variable speeds. It will start out low, then up the speed when someone is in the shower. It will slow down again when the moisture reduces. It does all this very quietly.

Either Specs Misleading or Fan is Defective
I really wanted this fan (model SLM70H) to work as the installation instructions and online spec sheet advertised to replace my 50 CFM bathroom ventilation fan. My builder's stock 50 CFM fan was inadequate and I was hoping for this fan's extra airflow to clear the bathroom of condensation during a shower. Since it was to go in a quest bathroom, I wanted it to turn on automatically via the humidity sensor in case the quest forgot to turn on the fan prior to taking a shower. Unfortunately, I found through testing that this fan had a reduced airflow if triggered on via the humidity sensor vs the manual "Full Speed" mode.TESTING PROCEDURE & RESULTSBACKGROUND: It is a good practice to test fans prior to installation to make sure they were not knocked out of alignment during shipment. An out-of-balance fan would be much louder than expected and have a shorter life span. I also wanted to test the humidity sensor's operation of the fan.TEST SETUP: I set the fan on the bathroom vanity counter on several folded sheets of rug gripper material to isolate the fan body from the counter. I did this because in addition to testing the fan's humidity sensor trigger points, I also wanted to hear how quiet the fan was without the fan body vibrating on the counter. The blower intake was facing upward and next to the fan's humidity sensor I placed my digital humidity sensor. The fan was wired up as per instructions and an inline switch was installed to simulate the wall switch.TESTING PROCEDURE: I closed the bathroom door and turned on the shower so it would fill the bathroom with steam and watched for the fan to turn on and record the humidity trip point. I then turned off the shower, opened the bathroom door and turned on my current bathroom fan to clear the bathroom of humidity. I then recorded the humidity level at which point the fan turned off. I did this three times. In addition, I triggered the fan's "Full Speed" mode by quickly turning the fan on and off.TEST RESULTS: The fan turned on around 52% - 53% relative humidity, within the spec'ed 60% +/-10% range. It turned off around 45% - 46%, which wasn't unexpected due to hysteresis. The fan was very quiet when it was triggered on via the humidity sensor, but the airflow wasn't great. I did not have an anemometer to measure airflow, but could tell it was substantially less than the airflow in "Full Speed" mode. Also, the fan noise in "Full Speed" mode was louder as you might expect.CONCLUSIONS: I called Delta tech support and spoke with several people who thought the fan speed in both modes of operation should be the same according to the spec sheet. I questioned them as to why the spec sheet refers to a "Full Speed" mode instead of a "Manual" or "Continuous ON" mode. They did not have an answer for that. So if there is indeed supposed to be only one speed that this fan operates at, then I have a defective unit. I am returning this fan.

This fan was the PERFECT solution. It turns on and stays on automatically ...
I had wanted to install one of the humidity sensing light switches in my bathroom. Prior to moving in, there had been no ventilation in the bathroom, and after scrubbing and bleaching mold off of the textured walls and cieling, I didn't want to risk not leaving the fan running long enough to prevent EVER having to deal with that mess again. But the electrician wasn't able to make the sensor switch work due to the older wiring. This fan was the PERFECT solution. It turns on and stays on automatically long enough to clear out the moisture after a shower and then shuts off. No need to leave the bathroom door open, or crack a window in the freezing cold. It's relatively quiet, and most importantly slim enough to fit into basically non-existant space in my attic ceiling rafters. My only complaint is the color. Wish it was white. It's more of a gray, and I'll probably end up spray painting it at some point.

Not as quiet as I hoped for.
Installation was straight forward. Low speed setting in reasonable but the higher speed is loader than I hoped for. It’s installed in a guest bathroom so not a big deal other than I have to tell everyone to leave the switch on and it will automatically start and stop.

Simply works...
I installed this in a renovated bathroom. It's been in place for about a year now, and it works as promised. Flip the switch on, you see a blue light, and it does nothing until humidity goes up...then the fan starts. Off and on a second time, and an amber light comes on and the fan is on continuously. Obviously, off is off. Simple and works without extra switches or complexity. I like it!
