My physical therapist uses the Wavetools Therapy Arete Muscle Scraper and I had to check it out. It did not disappoint! It is one of the best tools I’ve tried as I aim to get my knees (and IT Bands) in order. The weight, shape, and smooth but effective edges are perfect. No lotion needed. The Wave Tools videos link they provide with the tool showed me exactly how to use it. I trust this tool will help me with many injuries and nagging joint issues for a very long time. Not just sleek and sophisticated, also very effective! I tried a friend's and ordered one for myself immediately after to help work on my forearms, feet, elbows, and traps. I use it to keep my body moving, both getting through motherhood (mostly) and getting out climbing (occasionally). Great for breaking up scar tissue! I’ve had a lot of trouble in the past with different surgeries and injuries. This is getting ahead of the scar tissue issue. And I don’t have to go to physical therapy for someone else to do it. But do talk to your doctor first to make sure it’s right for you. I’m glad it was right for me because it works!

I’ve been treated professionally with the other Wave Tool model and had great results. Those issues were tendon focused, but my current issues are muscular in neck/shoulders and knees/hips. This one seemed a bit more muscular specific, and not needing to use lotion with it makes it super practical. I have noticeable differences in tension by just casually using this in the evenings while watching Netflix. It’s also one of the few muscle devices I’ve found that is convenient to travel with. It comes with a nice padded bag so you can keep the smooth finish and edges in tact.

I have a lot of fascial adhesions, particularly in my quads, forearms, hands, neck . . . well, really everywhere! I love this tool - it's just got a great feel to it and I like the way I can feel the adhesions while scraping the tool over the area (in a good way!). I recently fractured by elbow and it's been great to work this area, too. It is great for increasing blood flow and mobility and releasing myofascial restrictions. You will love it!
