Top 50 Instant Bible Lessons for Preschoolers

I bought this book to be used in my preschool bible class at church. I was going to start with Jesus’ resurrection since it is close to Easter. In looking at the text the the lesson, it says that Mary the mother of Jesus and some other women went to the tomb. Jesus’ mother is never recorded in the Bible as going to his tomb. It is based on the account from John 20:1-18. It does not follow how the story is accounted for however in John. Also there are quotes throughout that aren’t actually what the Bible characters said for all the lessons. I’m very disappointed. It should be written to accurately and age appropriately tell bible stories for children to understand. Picture included of lesson.

Really disappointed... the lessons are just pretty poor... no “meat” I got this to be lazy so I wouldn’t have to put together bible lessons as we’ve been doing “bible class” at home bc of covid... these are just way too basic not closely following bible in some instances.. the creation lesson was ridiculous I had to still make up my own and get all my own materials.. not eligible for returns so be warned

I have updated my review after several months of using this book. This lesson plan book was extremely helpful for me preparing lessons for some children who cannot go to church due to Covid. For years I brought the message to nursing home patients until it was discontinued. This book helped retrain me in lesson planning for young children. Now that I have been doing this for months, I have made some additions to make it more exciting and understandable for a range of ages 2-5 year olds. I turn the lesson into a picture book for each lesson so that all ages can understand. I also get them to participate in actual acting out the story. Example: I bought some plastic horns from Amazon for the “Joshua and the walls of Jericho lesson”. I made a large city out of Amazon box cardboard. We marched around it blowing the horns just like Joshua and his people did and at the end, the walls fell down. They are so excited when we discuss which story we do next. The main goal of all of them understanding the story seems to be working.

Some of the reproducibles were small or too detailed this age group. I felt it was not developmentally appropriate. Preschool children range from 3 through 5 years old. Might be a good book for a little older children and/or adult assistance needed for some of the activities.

It was highly recommend to me by a good friend of mine and I have to say I am very impressed with the materials. We did not have a good fit with any of our local churches and then with covid 19 we couldn't continue to look for a church where we felt like we all fit. So for now we are teaching our 2 four year olds and our 3 year old at home. The materials are easy to teach and they understand it really well. I am so glad this is out here for us whether we need to take our children's biblical education into our own hands or as a booster to what they already are receiving this is an amazing book. Thank you so much.

I have children ages 3-9 and there are projects for all of them to do but they can't all do the same stuff because it's really for different age groups... However, if I only had a three year old I'd be kinda disappointed. A lot of them are just coloring pages. No offense but it's slightly boring. You can always use it for inspiration though.

As some of the previous comments mentioned, the details of some stories in this Bible Lessons are not too precise, which is a bit out of the Bible, but overall it is good. Before we teach children, we will tell them which part of the record is wrong.

As a preschool teacher this book has come in handy more than a few times. I love the ideas, instructions, and how tailored I can make the lessons. Highly recommend!

I use this book in lieu of buying expensive material for sunday school, 3 yr olds. Great stories and ideas. Good theology
