HoneywellXC100 Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Is ment to have a 10 year battery but on the device it states discard by August 2029 which means I’m only getting 7 years. So I could have bought a cheaper 7 year model

This unit was purchased as a replacement for my life expired unit. It fits onto the wall near my gas boiler and its keeping my family safe. I test it regularly and it appears to be working fine. I've had it a while now. I'd recommend it for the peace of mind it brings me and my family, and Honeywell is a reliable and trusted brand in my view.

This was a replacement for an earlier Honeywell CO alarm which functioned satisfactorily for a full 7yrs. The replacement is rated for 10 years and I expect it to give good service as reported by Which as a Best Buy. I fixed the CO alarm on a under side of a high vaulted ceiling using a single screw fixing (as was the previous version) which was sufficient to provide a secure base. Set up is easy and involves sliding the unit base onto main unit to activate. Just remember to note the serial number before mounting the unit as you will need it for registration. Prices from this supplier are very competitive.

I have faith in the company and have already purchased the same product several years ago and it is still going strong. Very pleased with the look of it so you can put it in any room.

I don't know how long I've had this, perhaps 2-3 years and now the low battery alarm has started beeping. For 99% of appliances is trivial to change a battery. I couldn't see how to get the back off, there's no indication on the unit about changing batteries. I've got the outermost back off (there's 2 backs, a mounting one and an inner). Still can't see to change te battery, wasted 30mins of my Sunday on this rubbish.
