It could be one and a half to 2 in rounded Rock sometimes The Rock will fall through but 2-in rock or bigger is better and that would be River Rock or any kind of rock it's bigger than the holes on the crate will hold a lot of weight so you'll be okay I'm putting a lot of weight on it and you can walk on it and Cedric etc other than that it's okay if Rock does fall inside the crate especially if your pump is protected or is in a containment or a water container or a water safe I hope this helps thanks Big Bird's lawn care and services

Q: How much weight can the matrixblox withstand?

I know it can handle rocks around 200 pounds. Once installed the wife and Iwere walking on the blocks carrying 100 pound rocks with no instability.
