Not suitable for kitchen storage
Technically this is a cookbook but realistically it is a book of art, from the pictures by Dali to the recipes themselves - it is a book to be kept clean and to enjoy - it is not a book to be kept in the kitchen gathering stains alongside that 'curry made simple' book you got a few years back from the £1 shop and never use.

Sumptuous
This weighty book is a delight, from its embossed metallic gold cover and glossy photos of food served on turn of the century tableware; through to Dali's signature pictorial interpretations and equally surreal musings on food-related topics. Even if you don't intend trying your hand at the extravagant recipes, it is a joy to behold.

Quirky Dali! Good coffee table read.
The pages are filled with wonderful illustrations by Dali and the recipes are entertaining too (not going to try any). Have left it on top of the coffee table for friends and family to peruse, much to their amusement. Lovely bit of history to add to the home, moreso for Dali lovers.

Grotesque, decadent and wildly entertaining
This is a great gift idea for any of your foodie friends. No one sees a work of art like this coming until they meet it. It's a message from another long lost world of French 70s decadence, the bourgeoisie aesthetic turned extreme and grotesque. J'adore.

... a Christmas present for a friend and he absolutely loved it! Although the recipes are slightly eccentric
This was bought as a Christmas present for a friend and he absolutely loved it!Although the recipes are slightly eccentric, what else is expected from a Salvador Dali cook book?

Interesting, strange, odd.....
A fascinating reprint of this slightly bonkers book. The recipes are classic French, the illustrations of the dishes interesting and sometimes amusing, the incidental art is interesting and sometimes suprising. A lovely book

for those who appreciate Dali.
Taschen allows us an affordable edition of Dali's famous 'cookbook'. I am impressed by the high quality of production, the glossy paper, the gilt covers, the sharp reproduction of images- it is all superb. If you are delighted by the fanciful Dali world, then this modern reproduction is a must.
