needed to replace bulb in my fibre optic Christmas tree and was amazed at the cost of some of them ,also you don't seem to be able to buy them in any shops. I thought I'd take a chance and buy these -VERY cheap - and they work perfectly so hopefully with five of them it will be a long long while before I need to buy anymore.

I purchased a pack of 5 bulbs to use as replacements for the bulb in my 10+ year old fibre-optic Xmas tree. Couldn't find any in the shops and was planning to take the tree to the tip. Would have preferred a LED version, but so far I haven't found any. After much research, I took the risk that these Halogen ones would do the job, and hopefully keep my tree going for many more years (if the plastic fittings in the tree base hold out that long): if not, I can use them as replacements on other trees.Despite the pins being very, very slightly closer together and longer than the original, they did fit the bulb socket. Original bulb was 13W: these are 10W but it makes little or no difference to the resulting display. Although my original bulb lasted well over 10 years, I purchased a few of these after reading some tales of bulb failures in the feedback for this product.Note: Packed in a Jiffy bag, which the postman managed to force through my letterbox, squashing some of the individual bulb boxes. Thankfully, the bulbs seem to have survived. Perhaps they would be better packed in a small cardboard container in order to survive current royal Mail standards of mail handling!Would I recommend them? Yes.Five stars for now, but will revise if there are issues with the life of the bulbs.

In this day and age there always something you have to buy because they only last a couple of months then you have to replace them. Why can't we go back to the old filament light bulbs? They lasted for years not months.
