Victorinox peeler, with aluminum handle, pendulum blade, durable, stainless steel, 11 cm

I imagine most people are here because you saw a video of Joe Ades selling these in New York and thought you’d join in the fun for a few quid?!It’s true that this is a brilliant peeler - effortlessly takes of very thin shavings. I have yet to get Joe’s carrot julienne trick to work though; I can’t get the slices thick enough so they tend to bend when trying to shave the stacked edges.The main disappointment is the propensity to rust. I knew the blade wasn’t stainless steel, but I thought it might have a decent coating on it or something. Within a week, after one occasion of leaving it on the draining board after washing over night, the blade was covered in rust spots. It won’t be very long until that starts to affect the performance. Seems a shame, given that everything else about it is so well designed.

I've noticed a big difference since buying the Victorinox peeler, compared with my "pound shop" one. A sharp but shielded blade has significantly speeded up peeling, especially of larger spuds, with only a light touch needed. A heavier touch quickly gets rid of imperfections. Recommended.

A reasonably priced, efficient peeler, although the packaging did not suggest it was the Victorinox brand, but still Swiss made and I'm not complaining for just over £3

Sharp as a tack and very easy to hold and use. Mine normally come from a Chinese Supermarket in Liverpool but, add the cost of traveling to Liverpool and about £2 for a peeler and it's not realistic unless is in a large order of other items. As for lifespan, only time will tell. Just wash and dry after use and I don't foresee any issues.

Perfect peeler. Delivered very quick.Easy and fast to use.Bought one 40 odd years ago was still using it till I lost it a couple of weeks ago. Never found another peeler to match till now.

I have used this type of peeler for years and it is so easy to use. I was sorry when I accidentally threw mine into the compost bin with the vegetable peelings. It is reassuring that this type of peeler is still available.
