Quality Single Channel Zigbee Dimmer
I'm transitioning from an old Control4 system to a Home Assistant system with a Zigbee antenea. This single channel dimmer has worked flawlessly. It is easy to connect and easy to use. Once powered on, it connected to the Zigbee network immediately and I was easily able to set it up as part of a scene and automation.

Sophisticated piece of gear, and great customer service
Amazing product and company. But first, how does all of this fit together? The LED Controller takes care of the LED light color and intensity. The controller in turn is plugged into the transformer on one side, and then has leads for the LEDs on the other. In this case, both the Controllers and the Transformer are from BEF. (Photo 2) This unit, LM052, to the right in photo 1, is used when you have the Phillips Gateway. This is the unit I bought by mistake. I actually needed the LM053, which communicates via WiFi, or via Bluetooth, to an app on your phone. The app is how you set the colors, either bright white to a warm white, or anything on the color spectrum via the RGB LCDs. These devices are set up for six wire LEDs, which give you a range of white light (cool to warm) and a full color spectrum, as shown in the other photos. Initially I did not understand all of this, and bought the LM052 instead of the LM053. After trying to synch up the device I got in touch with the company. Their customer support is unbelievable! The rep, Billy, got back to me within an hour, saw and explained exactly what was going on, and straightened out my own confusion. The LM053 arrived, and the capabilities of the Zigbee app (more properly, the entire ecosystem) are astonishing. The setup was effortless, and the feature set is extensive. You can synch everything up to music, have it turn off lights when you leave, create "moods" you call up with one touch. There are devices for farm, garden and industrial equipment, sprinklers, just about anything you can think of. They have made home automation super easy and fun. There is a small learning curve, but it's well worth the effort. Back for BEF - these are exceptional products and they gave me top notch service - they will be my go-to from now on.

Works with Smart Things
Instructions were scetchy. The lights didn’t connect at all with the dedicated app. (Hence 4 stars) I tried the smart things app via WiFi and it instantly connected. Works very well with smart things and integrated with my other devices. Lighting is not the brightest, but I’m using it for under cabinet lighting (not above the stove-see photo), which is fine. Would purchase another now that I know how to hook it up easier.

Works great out of the box
I bought this along with a BTF-LIGHTING AC100-240V to DC12V6A power supply and a BTF-LIGHTING 5050 RGBW LED strip, after lots of research and a certain amount of educated guessing, and that combination worked flawlessly for me out of the box. The remainder of this review assumes you have that specific combination of components. The LEDs come with a cable that connects the pin sockets on the end of the strip to individual wires suitable for insertion into the controller. When inserting each wire, pay attention to the wire color! The order of red and green is switched on the controller relative to the pin order on the LED strip, so you'll need to cross-wire the wires. The colors of the wires in the cable that comes with the LED strip matches the pin order on the strip, so just attach the red wire to the "R" socket on the controller and the green wire to the "G" socket, and you'll be fine (unless you're red-green colorblind, in which case, best of luck!). The controller also comes with two sockets marked V+ (power). Attach the black wire to one of them and leave the other one empty. This advice probably applies to the RGBW controller that has a remote control too, but I can't say for sure. If nothing happens when you plug it in, make sure the plug between the wall socket and the power brick is firmly inserted. It took a fair bit of persuasion for me to get it fully seated. The controller comes with an instruction sheet that assumes you're using a specific third-party Zigbee hub and smart home app, so I mostly ignored it. The only relevant instruction is to press the button on the controller four times in quick succession to make it register itself with your Zigbee hub. Once I did that, it immediately showed up in my name-brand home app, the name of which I will not mention because the company seem to dislike it when people mention using third-party components with their hub, and I want to avoid unnecessary Hue and cry. Suffice it to say it works great with that system, though. Inserting the wires into the individual sockets was a little fiddly and requires a small straight-slot screwdriver of the sort you might get with a glasses kit. I was honestly a little surprised when I turned it on and it all worked, because I couldn't push the wires very far into the sockets. But they stayed in place when I screwed them down, and apparently that's enough. Using the cable that came with the LED strip, I didn't have to strip the wires at all to make that work. I was honestly not expecting the controller to just work on the first try, so I was very pleased when it did!

Don’t waste your time, will disconnect after a while and stop working.
The controller worked well initially then like others claimed it would lose connection and fail to work. Other connected items in the same room within 5 foot did not have any connection issues. I had my initial order replaced with a second one which started to fail the same way, thinking it was just a controller issue I purchased a now 3rd one and it also failed and this one after a few days. If you search home assistant posts online others state that Tuya items have reliability issues and especially connectivity issues. Also fun to note, I returned two items and Amazon only credited me for one even though they received the other.

Best in class for Zigbee LED strip control!!!
Need one of these? Then stop reading this and hit the BUY NOW button. I tried another brand first and it was completely unreliable for zigbee communication. This BTF-LIGHTING one, however, is a rock star! I don’t mean Aerosmith, I’m talking the Rolling Stones! It’s been bulletproof! *this product will not stop a bullet. It works well. Very well. That is all.

Purchased this to power a RBTCT LED Light strip. Works like a charm! It did take a few try to pair to the Hubitat hub, but once properly paired, the stock drivers allowed me to control it and to create rules to have my light automatically turn on and off.
