I had a right eye macular hole repair. I was told I must sleep on my left side for at least 3 weeks. I tried all different pillow types, and none worked. I was absolutely miserable with a sore ear and horrible shoulder and neck pain.On a whim I searched for a pillow with a hole in the center. I found this one with memory foam to also support my neck. This pillow has the hole to take the pressure off my ear and had made side sleeping very tolerant.The pillow is well made, not bulky and very comfortable. What an amazing find.

the hole is too small for headphones. Molding a small blanket into the right shape is better if you go to sleep with headphones. Pillow is otherwise fine. Its a little small but it also functions as armor in a pillow fight because you can wear it on your arms.

This pillow is well made and a great value, but is also very firm. However, it considerably relieves the 'condroderma' sore on my ear (after unsuccessful surgery). After a few nights, my ear does not ache anymore. After several weeks, the 'nodule' on my ear seems noticeably reduced and not inflamed. I finally realized that it is purposely designed this way. If the memory foam were any softer, it would collapse all or part of the hole in the middle, defeating its purpose. One issue: Filling is a bit higher at the top and one side, but you can always position it to find the most comfortable position. (It cannot be opened to redistribute foam shredding.) The hole is not completely round, but slightly angled at one end, but fits my ear perfectly -- a feature, not a bug. The removable cover is a plus -- high quality and easy to remove and wash. Shipping packaging was excellent; compact, sanitary, carefully done, and easy to remove. By the first night, it was almost fully inflated. Like most memory foam, the longer you lay on it, the softer it will get.

if you want a rock for a pillow this fits the bill. the pillow itself is really small has a hard roll of stitching around the edges so kinda uncomfortable and the whole doesn't fit an ear very well. did arrive quickly and I guess if you want to spend 80 you might get a better pillow but I have my doubts.

I had no idea that my ears could be damaged by my pillow, but my dermatologist said my chondrodermatitis was being caused by my pillow and that it is very common among older men. I just took a nap with my Holey Pillow. It was very comfortable and it protected my ear. Good job Holey Pillow.

This pillow is terrible. It is smaller than I expected and an odd size and shape. Too small to use on its own, too big to use with another pillow. The hole is very small and shaped in the opposite direction that one needs to fit an ear into it. Doesn't work at all for an ear piercing. It is also rock hard. Terrible pillow.
