Great sewing scissors at an affordable price
The media could not be loaded. If you do any sewing, you know how expensive good sewing scissors can be. For comparison, 8" solid metal sewing scissors are currently listed for $54.99 at my local craft store. Note that they would be more expensive if the store carried the 10" version like these. The weight of these is in line with the more expensive solid metal sewing scissors I've seen. They are definitely heavy but that is actually a good thing with sewing scissors. Ones with plastic handles are lighter but those are usually not as good at cutting fabric, especially thicker fabrics like denim and terry cloth. I attached a video showing me cutting a thin terry cloth towel. The scissors struggled momentarily with the bound edge of the towel but that was because I was cutting without holding the fabric so I could video. The grip is comfortable for me and the scissors are aligned well.I highly recommend these if you're looking for the Cadillac of sewing scissors but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for them. Tip: don't use these scissors for cutting anything other than fabric if you want them to retain their sharpness for cutting fabric.

You might need to have these professionally sharpened.
These sewing scissors have a heft to them that makes them feel heavy duty. They seem sturdy and durable. I like the contrasting color of the bolt. I tried these out on eight layers of thin cotton fabric (think medium weight bed sheet) and I had difficulty getting the job done well. I then tried cutting four layers of the same fabric and it went much easier. I had to tighten the bolt a bit with my fingers because it was a little loose but that was not troublesome. They are quite big so you might want to take a ruler out and see how big these are to give you an idea of what you’re getting into. I sew, but I’d call myself a beginner. I would recommend these as a first pair of scissors of this kind. I think if I had them professionally sharpened these would be impressive and get through multiple layers of fabric but I can not say for sure because I just tried them out as they came. They are as they appear in the pictures given. They seem like the kind of scissors that would last long enough to pass down.If I get them sharpened I intend to update this review.

Large, heavy and very sharp - great for heavy-duty work
I ordered these for use in my shop, but when they came I was so impressed that I offered them to my wife for the sewing/clothes making she does. She declined because they are too big and heavy for her. Which is fine with me because I get to keep them! They truly are large, though; I have Size Large hands, and all four of my fingers easily fit through the finger ring of the handle. That said, these are really sturdy scissors, well-made and very sharp and perfect for those with large hands. They cut through tough and challenging materials like leather, rubber, vinyl and heavy cardboard with no trouble at all. I am excited because I finally have a good pair of scissors for my home shop!

Sturdy, Great for Sewers
I wanted some heavy duty scissors just for the sewing room so that I could cut a variety of materials comfortably. These do the trick very well and cut through fabric wonderfully. I love them and they are my new "go to" scissors.

Larger Than I'm Used To - Sharp
I really like this pair of scissors. When I first grabbed them to cut some fabric, I was semi-surprised at how large they seemed. Because of their size, I wasn't sure the scissors would be maneuverable enough for my needs. I need not have worried. They get around the pattern just fine. These scissors are very sharp. It's the main reason, I think, that they are as maneuverable as they are.I'm tempted to go out and see if they will cut through a rod of 1/4" rebar except I'll wait a year or two before I use these as 'General Usage - Junk Stuff.
