RotaryCommando Gents Watch

I bought a Rotary Swiss Commando watch in 1994 and it was worn daily for about 15 years. I was drawn to it for its 24 hour dial,date, and time lapse bezel which I used for measuring tourniquet times during surgery. Outside of work it survived numerous mountain trips, swims etc until the luminous paint disintegrated in the hands. I was surprised to find this style of watch is still in production, albeit Chinese, but retains the same features.Quite a hefty discount buying from Amazon, and on arrival I was pleased to see that the current version is larger than the original making it easier to read. The NATO strap saved me from buying one to fit as I dont like metal bracelet straps which is the alternative from Rotary, originaly I used Animal velcro straps as they were quick to remove in emergencies to avoid injuring patients, no longer an issue.Hopefully this watch will last as long as the old one.

Sadly the description is completely and utterly misleading on the second bullet point of the description it clearly says it’s an AUTOMATIC, Why would Rotary or Amazon do this when it’sunfortunately just a basic Chinese quartz movement and not even supplied by or manufactured by Rotary. Thankfully I managed to refuse and cancel delivery and will buy my alternative watch with a reliable Japanese automatic movement, although I did love the looks of the Rotary.Very disappointed to say the leastNot totally Amazons fault I must say and was advised by Amazon to refuse delivery if it still turned up which it did.Wish they would have been more careful with the wording of the description that they had advertised but I should have checked the full specs in the first place so partly my fault also for not checking before ordering, Also I must point out that when the driver attempted the delivery the box was massively damaged and crushed so also very pleased I didn’t accept delivery as it had obviously taken a huge bash.

Excellent value

The watch has a quartz movement not automatic as stated in description. Returned.
