It's like having an Indian restaurant in your pantry
As a huge fan of Indian food for most of my life, I've had many amazing and flavorful dishes at restaurants, and far too many disappointing jars of curry sauces and prepared meals from supermarkets. For some reason, it just seems like that special spark of flavor can't be bottled or preserved. I stopped buying jars of curry sauces because they all tasted the same, and nowhere near as good as the real thing. Making my own curries came out better than I expected - but require time and effort, and a wide variety of ingredients. So the convenience of this product appealed to me. But due to past disappointments, I went into this purchase with some skepticism and low expectations.I am happy to say - this line of products has solved that problem. I don't know if it's the freeze dried approach, or high quality ingredients, or what. But these dishes are absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. The standout for me so far is definitely the Paneer Butter Masala, but I have also tried the Sambar Idly and Methi Matar Malai so far and loved those too. The Sambar is amazing on a cold day if you need to warm up a bit, and the Malai is scrumptious slurped up with some naan. I look forward to trying more of the dishes - while there are only a few on Amazon, there is quite a variety on their website. The only downside is that the portions are a bit small, and the price a bit pricy for what you get. That won't stop me re-ordering, but I will have to order a little less frequently than I'd like. I'm not even sure if it's less expensive than ordering Indian takeout - but the convenience of having it at home and ready to heat up in a few minutes is valuable to me. I do hope as this company scales they can be a bit more competitive on price. Anyway, I would not go into these expecting them to serve two as it states. If you're having the Paneer as a meal, one package prepared served with rice and naan or roti is a perfect portion for one. If you're splitting it with someone, it could really only be a side dish. But it's quite a delicious one - you're not going to want to share. There is a great kick of spice to all of the ones I've tried - just the right level for me. If you're not a fan of spice, just keep in mind that these will pack more punch than those store-bought curry jars I mentioned. And if you like things real spicy, maybe check out the Naagin brand Indian hot sauce - I am a big fan of that too.All in all, I am really happy to see these products on the market. The Cumin Club has something really special here, and if you're a fan of Indian food you should not hesitate to give any of these a try. The variety packs are a great value and an easy way to try out a few different meals. Enjoy!

Tasty…though
The sambar was tasty. Idlis didn’t rehydrate well for me.Price is a bit steep for the small not even one person meal.Packaging- inside you’ll find the sambar powder, in which is buried a packet of idlis, and a sachet of the food preserver. It is messy to separate the three and I accidentally dropped the sachet in water. This really needs to be redone.

Great flavor & easy to use but not enough to eat.
These re-hydrate well and make a nice tasting, spicy sauce, but there's only a little paneer. I wouldn't call it a 'meal', even over rice. I added peas and chopped potatoes to make it more filling. It does taste good, though, so I will be using the rest of the packages as a cooking sauce for chicken, potatoes or my own fresh paneer.

Delicious and great flavors
I am really enjoying the Cumin Club paneer butter masala. The gravy is rich and flavorful, has a good amount of spice to it, and the paneer themselves are squeaky and hold up well to the sauce. I was skeptical at first about a freeze dried meal kit, but it really works. There are no preservatives, lower sodium than in other similar shelf stable or frozen kits, and honestly much better flavor. I appreciate that Cumin Club offers some of their products on Amazon: I wasn't ready to commit to a subscription without trying them first, but now that I have tried the food I placed a subscription order with them.

Not worth it
I purchased this meal to take backpacking, and decided I should try one at home before hauling several into the wilderness. I’m so glad I tried one first, as I won’t be packing these anywhere other than the dumpster. The flavor was bland and the texture was runny. The five pieces of cheese actually rehydrated well and tasted good enough, but again, there were only 5 small pieces. I added rice to make the meal a bit more filling.

More efficient packaging, please.
I love these foods. The only way I think they could improve would be the packaging. Some of the products have already started to do this. The powder confined to the smaller package within. The cheese cubes or the rice cakes separated in the bigger package. That way when one opens the container, one does not have to content with powder on a table or counter countertop. It’s more efficient and effective.
