Rockem Sockem Robots

Present for my husband to take him down memory lane, he loved it. I'm so glad I chose to buy this gift for him. All bits present and in full working order. I would recommend this present as I had a brilliant reaction when it was opened. He could not wait to play it and was laughing his head off all through the game. Good for all ages I would think, men are never to old for fun.

As I am old enough to remember what this game used to look and play like I was excited to buy this for my 6 year old son last Christmas.I was so so disappointed because it's nothing like you ever remembered! The ring, controls to punch and the robots themselves are made of flimsy plastic and don't connect easily and when they do and they connect, most of the time the opponents head does not spring up! When it does, it only raise a centimetre or so and makes no noise to show that a winning punch has been made. All in all this game was played by my son for about twenty minutes before boredom set in. It hasn't been played with since and is under his bed gathering dust. What a waste of over thirty pounds! Do not buy.

Very cheaply made not as good as the original

For grandsons birthday. every thing seems good

though this is an expensive gift, this was the best idea for our 8 year old son. He loves this. We got it in May and 4 months later it is still his favorite, which is saying a lot for an 8 year attention span on 'gifts'.

Great retro game, used to have this when I was younger, kids luv it and me (shush don't tell the kids) haha.

Perfect

Had this as a kid and it was brilliant.This version seems a bit more cheaply made. I am sure the original had metal necks: they're now plastic.Regardless, it is the same concept of moving robot boxers around, throwing punches and trying to get their heads to pop-up.It was always frenetic but, in the past, over within a minute or so.With this version it soon becomes obvious that thumb/arm-aches are going to occur before any robot head-popping as finger-pressed punches are woefully weak and the heads very stubborn. The tactic is then not to press the button with thumbs but whack it with the palm of your hand. This means moving the robot becomes less a tactic.Eventually the head will go but the achievement is who was able to whack a piece of plastic often enough and hard enough rather than the result of any robot-based combat.Very disappointing.
