Martin M400 Mandolin 80/20 - Bronze Wound (Standard.010 - .034)

These are the best strings I have ever used. They have a full, rich sound, yet are also bright. They hold their tuning well and require little or no adjustment, even after a week of use. Highly recommended to players of all standards.

A really excellent set of strings, just the right tension, balance and tonal clarity for this particular instrument (built 1900.) Would strongly recommend.

Good strings

Had been buying tape wound strings at more than double the price of these, mainly for the feel. These strings, while not as sleek as the tape wound, still feel quite good and actually sound nicer. Well satisfied!

Received on time and good value

Was expecting a warm tone, so was disappointed to find they sound a bit tinny on my Loar 600. They did mellow after about a week of playing so I gave them a chance for a couple of months but they still sound about the same. Not quite as tinny as they were, but still nowhere near as punchy and likeable as j74s and the like. I will say they seem to resist corrosion very well and the tone may well suit certain instruments.

The strings sound wonderful, but upon tuning one string become unwound. And I needed a replacement, asked and I received the string I needed! Really great customer service!

Had these on a month or so and they have proved the best strings I've bought in 30 years (admittedly I've only had one set on there for the last thirty years!! They hold the tuning excellently and, for a flat back they appear to be the business.

This set of mandolin strings is perfectly decent, no surprises. They work, they were all there, they are good. Thank you.

Put the strings on my mandolins,they seem to stay in tune longer,very pleased with the sound also.
