Left me wanting.....MORE!!!!!
This is one of the best books that I've read in awhile. I'm not going to give anything away but the ending left me wanting more.....More of the books in this series. Jodi Vaughn is my new favourite author and after I finish this review I will be buying books 2, 3 and 4.UPDATE: If you don't see 5 stars, it's because I messed something up in the app as I was leaving thus review and I tried to edit this but it wouldn't update.

Eh
I wanted to like this, but she was way too wishy-washy about leaving her cheating husband. It made me sick how hopeful she was that he would come back as well as how quickly she was willing to take him back. It took up way too much of the book, even if he did get a public chew out at the end. She's also making a muck of being a vampire. I get it. She's in denial. She can't go on living a normal life with her kids like that!!! I just kept waiting for her to glamor her family and do some awesome vampire secret stuff with smelly dude who turned her. I was also hoping to get a little back story on rouge, stanking vamp man but all we were given was a name .

An Excellent Cozy Adventure, until...Cliffhanger
This was a rollercoaster ride in the days & nights of a soccer Mom turned vampire. This book was very unique, as it offered insight into her transformation, with her goal being able to stay in her house, with her two girls. With a cheating husband, and other stressors, being normal was getting more difficult. The horrible betrayal. She finds out her husband had been cheating longer than he claimed. She has it out in public with him. She storms off with the car, gets really sick from lack of feeding. We, the reader are now right back at the beginning of the book. Except now, she likes the taste of blood. No ending with a large sense of disappointment.

A Twist on the vampire trope
On the very night Rachel has arranged two very special gifts for her doctor husband (one being herself naked all wrapped in a giant now), she walks into the master bedroom to find her husband and her best friend involved in bed games. She runs out on that snowy night, has a wreck, and wakes up in a strange house with a strange man who tells her she is now a vampire! He's supposed to teach her what she needs to know to be able to live as a vampire. It's too many things for Rachel to handle at once! She needs to work through her feelings about her husband and friend's betrayal, what would be best for her and the girls, and how all the changes to her body will make her life as a homemaker definitely different. I am ready for part two now!!
