Delightful read!
Blythe has kept the “cozy” in a cozy mystery with colorful and engaging characters that kept me engrossed along with the spiciness of a near-future setting, and, of course, a satisfying mystery involving ladybugs, dogs, cats, and robots."Loveliness of Ladybugs" is a breath of fresh air and truly a “lovely” way to spend an afternoon, or a commute. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

A good beach book with lots of yorkies and a few cats
This is a fun, easy to read cozy mystery set in the near future that includes robotic cats and flying cars. It also has a mystery. Where is Ariadne? Is her disappearance a publicity stunt for Supplement Village-her family's successful business. Dr. Joy Forest is asked by Det. Travis to take care of Ariadne's yorkie, Teaspoon, as well as use her intuition to help find Ariadne. This is an enjoyable, light read that will leave you smiling and looking forward to having a robo-cat. I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems. This is my voluntary review.

Futuristic cozy mystery
This was different from the cozy mystery I’m use to. Has a lot of crazy futuristic things. The characters are also a bit strange but it was a very enjoyable read. So loved the robot cat!

The book started out pretty well, but then, it began to dissolve into people frequently calling each other "dear" and the dialogue got more stilted with antiquated word usage."Ratiocination"..."you are being so kind, I'm sure"..."disconcertingly sick"..."I cannot help but laugh at your mental derangement," which was said by a character after having been choked to the point of nearly dying! Grown women giggling at the drop of a hat, and no idea how old or young these characters were, what they looked like beyond tall, short, little, mousy, and some hair color...oh, and the main character's crush was a man with "muscularity" and had "incredible hazel eyes." The pets...both robo-animals and "bio-animals" were "creatures" or "dear creatures" or "dear little creatures"!No depth, no character development, no backstory to create a character that the reader could care about...except one dog, which is the only reason I gave it two stars instead of just one. And very few contractions used...people don't speak like that now! Not even at formal events!By the time the resolution was finished, the treacle then got so thick and sweet I could only skim the last 2 dozen or so pages. But they seemed to be there basically as a place for all the characters to praise one another over and over, to throw around more "dear (add any name here)," and to take up space to cover how flimsy the story really was.The story is set in the future with robotics and flying cars but with the people sounding like they stepped out of a Jane Austen novel. Actually, I enjoy the Austen novels, but there's a reason for the more formal and stilted language used: they were written over 200 years ago! This book was written in the 21st century! There was no real suspense, the main character's "second sight" was a ploy for getting information to the reader without having to show any action of getting the information, and the solving of the mystery was a letdown despite what action the writer finally threw in to hurry to the ending of the story.I didn't pay much for this book, and even that was too much, but I will be on the lookout for this author's work so I can absolutely avoid it.

Futuristic with robotics
I did not like this book. The storyline did not interest me. I’m not sure if it’s the genre or the author’s style, but it didn’t hold my attention. Throughout the book, there is a Yorkie that requires pet sitting. Teacup, the dog, is the only character that seemed to have personality. I found the descriptions often confusing. I received this book for free and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Delightful and Easy Read
I belong to a book club and we select a variety of books of which I mostly enjoy the story-line of the books. However, I have found that many of the books use profanity way too much for my liking. A Loveliness of Ladybugs was a refreshing futuristic mystery story whose main character, Joy, was charming and whimsical without profanity. I was pleasantly surprised that the plot of the story did not include a murder which most mystery stories do. There was a little hint of romance but it was not the main story-line. The Ladybugs had two meanings, a group of church going women and the actual bugs themselves. This book was an easy read and I have purchased “A Haras of Horses” and am looking forward to sitting down and enjoying another story written by Blythe Ayne.
