Customs cost repaid. Superb so far. Adjust track speed etc via iMac.
ordered after repeated fails of Logitech trackballs. 3 weeks or so shipment from Japan.I had to pay £12.30 customs charge on the import. However the vendor repaid this in full to me.* Easy to adjust trackball sensitivity and directions through normal iMac System Prefs ; mouse controls. *Very very good so far. Feels high quality.UPDATE: after 4 months; This is superb. high quality. love it. A pleasure to use every day (hence I'm back writing this update).UPDATE; 3/22, after 5 years. I was concerned the wheel was beginning to have accuracy problems, but cleaning returned it to good functioning. However this caused me to check the current trackball market; as a result I have bought another one of these Sanwa trackballs on eBay for c.£100. They are that good. I want a back-up for the long haul.

Far better than a mouse, bit better than the Logitech version.
I felt obliged to give this five stars because I see the Logitech one has five stars and having used both I prefer this one by far. However, it's not perfect as it's a little bit large for my hands and the ball is just a tiny bit stiffer than I would like. But that said, I don't even think about it when I use it most of the time and it's more than adequate. Much better than a mouse. The key difference between this and the Logitech one is that this is wired with a USB cable and the Logitech one is Bluetooth with a tiny USB receiver. You would think that this makes the Logitech one better but as it turns out it's the opposite. The reason is that the Bluetooth one lags and requires just long enough to wake up after not having been used for a minute that it yanks me out of whatever I'm doing to wonder why the cursor isn't responding. If you're a bit obsessive like me, it starts irritating and rapidly escalates to the point it's maddening. This one responds instantly and quickly and the Logitech one it has replaced has been unused for some time now. There is an older cabled version of the Logitech one which is slightly smaller and fits my hand better but mine eventually broke and I believe it's discontinued in favour of the far more expensive Bluetooth version. As I resent paying extra for something I consider a major negative, I bought this instead and have been very pleased. And it's certainly a lot easier on the wrists and a lot more accurate than a mouse. You just rest your hand on it and move the wheel precisely and accurately with your thumb. Very good.

Do yourself a favour, a good alternative for thumb trackball users
Jaded by logitech's fading left button click, like many I sought out an alternative. Sanwa are makers of arcade machine parts which boded well, at the end of the day this is the only alternative out there for those who like to use their thumb to move the ball.It didn't take too long to arrive from Japan and was well packaged, it is plug and play using built in windows drivers although there is a small utility you can download from their website, in reality the only real difference is that you can reassign the buttons - be prepared for some logical deduction and / or google translate to find what you need.Overall I am very happy with the performance, you will want to tweak the cursor speed as it is quite sensitive but that is easily done via the mouse settings in control panel or in the utility if you grabbed that. It feels less of a chore to use than my fading logitech m570 the ball is slightly larger and the scroll wheel feels improved. Other than that build quality is comparable and the device is slightly flatter than the m570 and looks like it is for a larger hand, but my partner who is a long time trackball user and has much smaller hands found it good to use as well. What could be better? If it was despatched from the UK and the website had a bit more english language, minor points really. It doesn't bother me its not wireless either - less to go wrong.Verdict: very happy with product, time will tell if it outlasts logitech's m570 built in left click fade.

but the ball is a bit large for a thumb scroller and does rub the side a bit but can be rectified easily through use or modify
Its ok and works well enough, but the ball is a bit large for a thumb scroller and does rub the side a bit but can be rectified easily through use or modify.Buttons are also a bit to sensitive and could do with 3 button and a scroller (and preferable back/forward buttons)If there were more thumb scroller trackerballs, this would probably be at the bottom of the list, but it seems to be this or Logitechs M570 which has poor quality switches that cause a double click fault after a short time (Search google for details, I have the same issues)

I love this trackball/mouse.
I bought this as a replacement for my "Logitech trackman wheel mouse" which was worn out after many years of use. I chose this particular trackball because it was similar in shape to the Logitech, but the price was much better. The sensitivity and smoothness seem superior to my Logitech - I prefer the action of the trackball, buttons and wheel.I would like to says some words of warning to anyone considering a trackball for the first time - The operation of a trackball is significantly different from a conventional mouse, some of my colleagues could not use it at all and it took me about a week to become proficient in its use. However, I would never go back to conventional mouse as a trackball eliminates wrist/shoulder pain which often comes with extended use of conventional mice.

Great product, bad shipping
Works very well! I must admit that it is quite bigger than I expected and the buttons are slightly too sensitive but other than that, it feels great. The only problem I had was the shipping, I think it took about 3 weeks or so - but I'd still say the mouse is more than worth the price.

A happy surprise!
I was looking for an alternative to Logitech's offering, I see no reason for a trackball to be wireless in a desk environment and I've had issues with the longevity of the logitechs (gone through 3 in two years maybe I'm hard on them.)PROSThe large trackball, even on a lower dpi setting the large trackball has a higher range of movement than other trackballs I've tried. I use 2 monitors at work and can scroll from the left side of one monitor to the right side of the other without having to pick my thumb up off the trackball. The larger range with a larger trackball also means you get better movement for fine details, it doesn't go from 1 to 100 with barely a twitch. The trackball itself is nice an heavy as well and after only about an hour break in session glides smoothly. It feels like a better version of the old red balled Logitecs from the late 90's early 2000.Plug in play is good, even works well with my Thinclient in a VDI environment at work which is really picky about what kinds of interface objects you use, even using the generic drivers it works like a champ. This thing all around is very large, I am 6'2 with slightly bigger hands than most users, and it is quite comfortable. If you have smaller hands you might feel some thumb fatigue compared to other offerings, I'll warn you now.ConsI wish there were at least two more buttons like my Logitech had. And I really hate piano finish on something you have to touch, always ends up feeling oily or has prints on it. but those to me are minor enough that I'm still giving this product 5 stars for the crazy low price alone.

This product is great, and even more comfortable than the old logitech ...
The negative reviewers simply don't know how to adjust the sensitivity of the ball. This product is great, and even more comfortable than the old logitech mouse for larger hands. If I could change one thing it would be to make the surface from a rougher plastic, but a piece or two of grip tape solves slip issues while gaming. All around, fantastic. I'll be buying a few more of these just to have them (as I did with the logitechs many years ago. Now on my last one).
