SNOOZZZZER alert!
I couldn't get into this book and after reading 60% just gave up - the characters are so boring, the plot is sooooo boring and not believable at all - maybe someday on the threat of death I will read it but I doubt it - very disappointing book in the series and adds no compliment to the series - even the romance is out in left field with little sizzle or focus

Okay as Standalone, better if familiar with one of series
Spies, romance, and intrigue. Tension, pace masterfully build to crescendo. Love blending fact with fiction. (1830 conference, Belgium's independence).Monique, rejected from her royal family, is a compelling heroine. Gregory, Lord Fulkham, is excellent nemesis/ hero. Throughout story his emotions clash with ingrained sense of duty.Wish at times that we saw more of Fulkham's familial ties. I'm glad story never gets bogged down with self-recriminations. However hero was not as compelling as heroine in this book.Overall very enjoyable, but not one of my favorites of series. This book works as standalone but would recommend familiarity with one of early series stories for maxium enjoyment.
