Beautiful handmade paper! I feel like I’m working in collaboration with the artisans who made it. I used one sheet to test my watercolors because I ordered the tinted paper and I know that it will show through the watery washes. They worked beautifully! Micron pens and fineliners worked well and are waterproof. My fountain pen felt like I was writing on butter. Perfect! The bleed through with some of my watercolors was my fault - I work heavy on the water and will just adjust how much I use. All of the brands of watercolors I have worked very well, but the Paul Rubens and Kuretake worked especially well on the paper. Maybe a different binder or consistency? The only thing that didn’t work well was my mechanical pencil, so I just won’t reach for it for this paper. I’ve also ordered some of the thicker, larger size watercolor paper from this shop and I’m going to use it to sew my own journal. I like bookbinding and wanted to create my own journal with different sizes and types of paper. Still, I’m very tempted to order one of this shops journals now that I’ve used their paper. My suggestion is to try a sheet and figure out how to work with this paper’s personality. I find it absolutely wonderful!
