My grandson is ten and a good reader. But these puzzles give him a new way of problem solving and, for him, valuable practice in spelling.

Purchased for a third grader (just turned 9) who enjoys crossword puzzle worksheets at school. Most of these puzzles are below third grade level; the hardest ones have around 12 words which intersect in a maximum of two places. Though a few the words LOOK long and intimidating, the clues are obvious and the words are easily sounded out: baseball, cookbook, etc. My daughter flipped through the book and couldn’t find anything remotely tricky, so she’s not interested.Probably OK for ages 6 to 9 with no crossword puzzle experience. Otherwise, skip this book.
