Like a shopping list Very disappointing
I reluctantly selected 1 star in order to leave the review. This book deserves none.My son ordered this as a gift and I was disappointed to find it was just a list of attractions with a very brief description that told you very little and GPS co-ordinates.There are no maps to help you locate the attractions and no photos. It is not worth half what my son paid for it. It will be returned.

Author Cynthia Bennett presents a travel and learn program that entices the reader to explore the special wonders of the states. This volume invites us into the many natural, beautiful, and inspiring creations of nature found in California and adds to the content concepts that are helpful and both very informative and environmentally sound. This is a fine way to take advantage of family time by including some teaching! As Cynthia states, ‘Welcome to your very own adventure guide to exploring the many wonders of the state of California. Not only does this book lay out the most wonderful places to visit and sights to see in this vast state, but it also provides driving instructions and GPS Coordinates for Google Maps to make exploring that much easier.’ Each entry in this fine book features a family-friendly location to explore, along with useful information to know before you go.What follows is an interesting overview of California’s history, a description of the landscape and climate, and then the doors open to explore such sites as Disneyland, Death Valley National Park, Laguna Beach, Redwood Forest National Park, Mount Whitney, Santa Catalina Island, Malibu, Universal Studios Hollywood, Morro Rock, Palm Springs, Alcatraz Island, Pacific Coast Highway, Golden Gate Bridge, Hearst Castle, Yosemite Falls and more. Each site is described with history and unique features, Best time to visit, Pass/permit/fees, Closest city or town, How to get there, and more. This book provides everything needed for a successful, rewarding and fun adventure into the beauties and fascinating spots in California - a clever and very well produced addition to travel and learning. Great Guide to Some Great California Destinations
This little book features a number of wonderful places to visit in California. Descriptions, addresses and recommendations are included along with some very handy tips. A number of familiar and new places are included. They include: Channel Islands National Park, They Mystery Spot, Winchester Mystery House, General Sherman tree, Joshua Tree Park, Santa Monica Pier, The 17 Mile Drive and more. Oddly enough the City of Solvang and their Christmas festivals weren't included. Great guide for anyone who wants to roam.

No map and index is alphabet listed.
Less than what you can get on internet. No map or location index. Not worth the money or time to look at.

Desperately Needs a Map
This guide book desperately needs a map. Its table of contents is organized alphabetically, which doesn’t help someone only familiar with the large urban cities of California. I went through the table of contents with a map app open so I could figure out where most of these destinations are located.Additionally, the book is described as exploring “offbeat places.” I would argue that Disneyland is not offbeat and places like Pinnacles National Park is more appropriate.
