I’ve never done macramé before. I’m a complete beginner, yet, in spite of this, I now have four very decent trees hanging around the house, which really weren’t that hard to make once I got started. A crochet hook is very handy for threading the yarn through the beads, but otherwise there’s almost everything you need in the box, four different colours of yarn, four rings, 12 beads. The only thing lacking is a set of usable instructions. Those included would no doubt mystify even an experienced eye, but to a beginner like me they were beyond baffling. Fortunately the internet has dozens of tutorials for ‘macramé Christmas trees’ so a simple search should find you one that works.First you must cut the yarn into different lengths. Tutorials often disagree on this part but I found that I needed2 x 140cm2 x 120cm2 x 100cm2 x 90cm2 x 50cm1 x 70cmIf you’re unsure, then cut a little more than you need. The first tutorial I tried left me with a few strands too short, so I had to start over again. Don’t worry about cutting too much yarn. You get about 16.5m of each colour and the tree takes just over 10m, so there’s plenty to spare.Other than that it was pretty easy. Considering that there’s aren’t any instructions, it might be better to buy the yarn and beads yourself and probably save a bit of money, but as a set, there nothing wrong with it except the lack of instructions. And, to be honest, how a set of instructions, on paper, would even begin to tell you how to make a Christmas tree out of string is beyond me.

As a complete novice at macrame, I thought purchasing a kit for beginners would be the perfect place to start. Sadly, as a beginner, I cannot make head nor tail of the instructions. there are 16 pictures and that is it. There is nothing to state how many lengths of yarn is needed, what length they need to be etc. Just 16 pictures at various stages of the process. Luckily, there are plenty of videos on the internet I can follow but this kit is most definitely NOT for beginners.

I thought this would be a good way back into macrame, something I used to do quite well. How wrong I was. Fistly the instructions that came in the pack are useless. The chinese watermark over it doesn't help. Also the instructions are not for the image shown in the produce details and descriptions. The string is for that particular version, however the instructions and video are demonstrating a completely different type of string. The company need to decide which version they want to sell and ensure all the details and video match. Very disappointed.

Ok I ordered this as it said beginner. So I'm quite crafty and thought yeah why not.The instructions have a list of 5 instructions to cut different lengths. Ok.The pictures are covered in Chinese writing and there is nothing on the diagrams that tell you where to use the different lengths.So I have no idea what I'm doing.I guess I'm going to have to search to find out if there are any you tube vids to help.Not impressed at all

The instructions were not fit for purpose. Luckily with the help of a Youtube tutorial I was able to complete the kit. The yarn and wooden accessories were good quality and the end product looks kind of like the one in the sellers diagram !! Seller should include a link to an online instruction video/manual

This is not easy to do!! Its clear part way through that you need several lengths of cord but not sure how many!! That is key info to start but is missing from instructions!! Gave up! Not impressed

There is no yarn length given. So how long do you need for each starting length!!!!!Rubbish
